My fiance and I just recently moved to Edmonton and are down the street fro St. Josephs. We decided to get married in Ireland in the Catholic Church, and realized how complicated this would be to plan and prepare for from a distance, further complicated by the fact that we were new to the church. Father Martin at St. Josephs was very helpful and supportive with the church preparations and paperwork, and assumed all responsibility to ensure that our correct required information gets to the dioceses in Ireland.

We completed our pre-marriage preparation course at the basilica as well, and thoroughly enjoyed ourself. Although we were both raised catholic, we have not been as connected to the church in our adult life. I had reservations about what a weekend of Catholic marriage prep would look like.. but i was surprised! The couples were young and the church has made noticeable efforts to modernize their information and teaching for new marriages. We both found the prep course useful and felt even closer after completing it!
