About

Sons of Hermann Hall is a historic wedding and event venue in Dallas, Texas. First built in 1911 as a fraternal lodge, it is now the oldest free-standing wood structure in the city. The dedicated onsite staff will work to make sure each element of your wedding matches your vision.

Facilities and Capacity

With its old-school aesthetic and versatile floor plan, Sons of Hermann Hall offers plenty of options to host your wedding. The venue's grand staircase will lead you to the main event space on the second floor, The Grand Ballroom. Inside features a high ceiling, original woodwork for a historic atmosphere, and large windows for plenty of natural light. Your guests can dine and dance on the natural wood floor as your live band and DJ performs from the elevated corner stage. For cocktail hours and prenuptial events, the Main Bar downstairs sports an eclectic aesthetic, from the vintage chandeliers to the extensive display of photos on the wall. A kitchen is also attached to the bar for caterers to prepare their reception dinner with ease. In addition, couples are welcome to host their ceremony in the Old Bowling Alley. Large windows, exposed ceiling beams, and an extensive aisle make for an effective location to exchange your romantic vows.

Amazing, Historic, All-In One Venue

My now wife and I were looking for something unique for our wedding venue. We have lived in Dallas for many years and wanted something authentic to the City, not just another "event" space. What could be better than a 100+ year old historical landmark that's one of the oldest buildings in town! Sons of Hermann Hall was the absolute perfect fit for our wedding! The Old Bowling Alley space turned into a wonderful venue for the ceremony. We utilized the downstairs bar for cocktail hour and light hors d'oeuvres. Then moved the party to the upstairs ballroom for dinner, drinks, and dancing the night away. We had so many compliments from our guests on how great it was for the whole event to be in one location and how cool the building was. Amber was our contact at the Hall, but she was so much more than that. She was there every step of the way offering her help and experience. She was awesome working with our vendors prior to and on the day of to let us totally focus on being in the moment. Her staff at the Hall was so courteous and professional, yet with the laid back vibe we wanted to cultivate among our guests. We left our wedding feeling that it went better than we ever could have hoped. If you are looking for an awesome, unique, affordable, and welcoming place to have your wedding, you simply cannot make a better choice that Sons of Hermann Hall. Here's to 100 more years!

Unforgettable Experience!

My husband and I eloped but decided to throw a big dance party several months later. Sons of Hermann Hall was not only a great location for our families, but it was also an excellent price point for the budget of a teacher and a non-profit administrator. The vibes are cozy, familial, and historic. The hall was a community center and music hall for almost 100 years and the warm, lived-in appeal cannot be replicated. Amber, the venue manager, went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. With her experience in catering and event management, the whole event went off without a hitch! We were able to bring in our own vendor for food which was really important to us. Since the hall has a regular service bar it was very easy to coordinate beverages as well and our guests commented on the great bartending staff. I recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a warm and friendly atmosphere, historic charm, and great location!

Wonderful Retirement Party in a Memorable Location

We booked this venue for a retirement party and could not be more pleased with the service we received. The operations manager was very responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful and not only coordinated with the caterer, sound technician, and bands but also anticipated things we hadn't even thought of in setup and execution of the event itself. Everything ran very smoothly!
The building is a wonderful historic Texas dancehall with a terrific ballroom with wooden dancefloor and raised stage. There are several other rooms available for separating meals or other activities, or (as was helpful during our event) providing quieter spaces for guests more interested in visiting than dancing. It's a well-known event space and live music hall on the edge of Deep Ellum in Dallas and was a very familiar location for us as we've been there many times. It was very special to have it for our event, and we're so happy we chose it.

Amazing and Affordable Historic Experience

The team at Sons of Hermann Hall made our reception a dream come true! The building is filled with well worn charm that was perfect for our community centered wedding reception. The staff was extremely kind and flexible with last minute changes and accommodations. If you are looking for somewhere welcoming, cozy, and rich in history, this is the place to be!
