This little valley retreat center is an enchanting and peaceful place that makes your special occasion a cherished experience. Being 30 minutes from downtown Joplin, you are able to enjoy the rustic setting away from traffic and city noises while still being accessible to the city.

When you rent Shoal Kirk for your event, you have access to the entire 98 acres that sits along Shoal Creek, including staying the night at the old Lodge. The Lodge sleeps 18, with separate showers, a full kitchen, dining table, sofas, and chairs. (bring bedding and pillows). The lodge has a ramp as well as stairs to the entrance.

There are numerous locations to hold your wedding ceremony and reception. You can choose from various beautiful outdoor spaces, the outdoor chapel, & pavilion. Most wedding ceremonies have taken place in a beautiful outdoor area along Shoal Creek where you & your guests walk to the ceremony area through a whimsical forest path. Handicapped accessible: There is also a wider path that cars can drive on to drop off individuals directly at the ceremony space without having to walk to the path.

The outdoor chapel can accommodate up to 120 guests, with room to add chairs as needed. The chapel has a piano and overhead fans. There are many beautiful sites on the property, to meditate and reflect on the good things in life. The pavilion has picnic tables (removable) to entertain and barbeques to cook outside. There are outdoor fire rings to roast marshmallows and warm the heart. There are some chairs and circle tables available, as well as 4 large spools. Alcohol is permitted per our Alcohol Policy that you will be asked to sign. A full kitchen is attached to the pavilion.

Family and friends of all ages will enjoy the day with a large area for children to play on various playgrounds on site plus our SPLASH PAD. This place will always hold a special memory, no matter how large or small of a gathering. The beautiful acres will help make your event perfect.
