This is a beautiful venue, the cost was very attractive, but truthfully the owner is only responsive when the conversations benefits them. I was naive enough not to sign anything while booking and handing over my $500 deposit, so learn from my mistake if you do decide to book with the owner. Sign everything before booking. The simplicity of what happened to me is as follows: I had booked my wedding with this venue, paid my $500 deposit before signing anything (including anything stating it would not be refunded back), and then needed to withdraw/ cancel my wedding (within around 30 days of having booked it). From a business perspective, I understand that the venue is not required to return my deposit. As a customer and human being however, I disagree with the unresponsiveness I've received in requesting a refund, I don't believe this would have affected the business in being able to rebook the date as it was done informally and promptly withdrawn, it didn't require the business to incur any expenses, nothing was signed or stated to me that it couldn't or wouldn't be refunded, and on top of dealing with a canceled wedding, the lack of compassion did not go unnoticed. Again, I understand there is no requirement to have had to refund the deposit back, but this rating is mainly due to the lack of compassion and communication received from the way this situation was handled. Be sure to sign everything prior to paying the owner to protect both parties if you book this venue.
