Excellent service, would recommend to anyone having a wedding or a bigger event!

“WOW” is the first thing I can say about this venue and the couple that runs/operates it. To start it off, this venue is ABSOLUTELY beautiful, and they’re continuing to add more and more! My wife and I absolutely fell in love the moment we saw the property. We knew without a doubt in our minds that Liberty was the venue for us. From the gazebo, house, tent, and ballroom, it is perfect! But, when you pay for the venue, you don’t just get the venue, you get an excellent staff lead by two of the nicest people we have ever met! Huge thanks to Elma and Rod for their accommodations and hospitality while we were their guests. They treated us like family, had our best interests at heart, and could tell they genuinely care. Our special day couldn’t have gone any smoother; it was perfect due to the help from Elma, Rod, and their team. I 100% recommend Liberty Plantation to anyone who wants to have a genuinely good time and a venue who cares about your special day, and NOT treat you like another paycheck. Elma and Rod want what YOU want your day to be, not anyone else's. Thank you so much, we will forever be thankful for helping us with our special day!

Luxurious, Charming and Unique

This location truly has something to offer every kind of Bride! Luxurious grounds, an outdoor ceremony site with a view of the plantation and setting sun in the background, an indoor reception hall and outdoor reception area. This property is what I like to call a photographers dream! Brides can even get ready and have wedding photos taken inside the plantation! Luxurious and charming, the plantation is adorned with chandeliers everywhere you can imagine and even has a wrap around porch and balcony that goes around the entire home. You will not be dissapointed!

Amazing venue and amazing staff!

The location and the views are incredible! You are in the very heart of The Ozarks. I have worked events at many high end venues, and nothing comes close to this. I highly recommend it for a magical evening!

They were overly strict and ILLEGALLY searched through the cars for alcohol

These people live there - so I understand being overly aware of everything going down…. But this was ridiculous. The main comment I have is that we got there with beer FOR the groomsmen (they asked us to bring it) and when we parked they had a check in person who told us we couldn’t bring it in. So we put the beer in the back of the truck as they requested. Only to find out later it had been taken… and they had looked through all cars/trucks they could and took any alcohol. To be clear, nobody was going out to cars to drink - the cars are parked far away from the party. We did what they requested… and then they took it? But also just in general looking through our private property without asking and taking any alcohol is wild behavior. Unless you want all guests to feel WATCHED at all times and people to illegally search your stuff.. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Wild.

Disappointing

I was really debating letting this whole thing go and not writing a review. However, due to the responses I saw from you I’ve decided you earned an additional negative review. I have copied one of the more detailed responses that covered many of the issues I had, you will see my responses under each point you attempted to make. I am going to be as objective as possible, and I did remove some points from the response that I was not directly involved in to ensure my review is as honest as possible.

So sorry that someone felt the need to write a deceptive review. These pictures are from the walk through 4 days before the wedding right after a storm in the Fall. The actual wedding was mowed and blown. Why does this person feel the need to misrepresent the facts?
The grass did not look recently mowed at all, maybe it was and was just done to a significantly lower standard than expected, you will see this is a recurring point. The gazebo area where the actual ceremony took place was extremely dirty, it was absolutely covered in webs, as stated by multiple reviewers.

*We tried desperately to accommodate this group, but they refused to understand the liquor laws regarding packaged liquor. We do not allow outside alcohol. Their guests brought alcohol and put it in the back of a pickup. We wrote them a note to see management to pick it up after the wedding.
Alright, this response is a spinning of events that would make congress jealous. I was the person who had the beer brought. The intention the entire time was to give it to the groom as a gift. An employee saw the beer when we first arrived, we were told to leave it in vehicle because it can’t come to the venue. This was a non-issue at the time, so we placed it in his truck bed and went to the venue. That was us doing what YOUR staff told us to do with it. Hours later when they went to leave the beer was gone and the note was left on the windshield. For you to go into someone’s vehicle even in the truck bed and take something that isn’t yours is completely wrong, yet that’s what you did. I really want you to understand, this is the biggest reason for me writing a review. This was never an issue of not understanding the liquor laws, it was an issue of you having the audacity to take something that wasn’t yours without talking to someone. This entire thing could have been avoided if you’d come to any number of people there and asked for someone to put it inside the actual vehicle instead of the bed. Nope, you went straight to let me take this from them because I can. Let me ask you, how’s that decision working out for you now? If it’s possible I implore you to attempt to be better in the future.

*We refused to risk our liquor license so they could make money selling their own alcohol. After they special ordered beer and wine they refused to pay for it and ended up with house wine and beer. The wine was NOT $7 per glass.
Make money selling their own alcohol??? If we purchased the special ordered beer and wine we were told, we would have to pay for it, obviously this makes sense, but it would be purchased by YOU for YOU to turn around and sell at the wedding. Even that was going to be okay, but we asked if we could keep any left-over beer or wine that we purchased after the wedding and we were told no, due to rules with your liquor license. If that’s the case then it’s completely understandable, but at that point it doesn’t make any sense to do this, so it was cancelled. I can certainly understand why this is frustrating to you, having the customer purchase the product for you so you can sell it back to them and keep the excess product is a pretty good deal for you, I’d be upset too.

*None of our staff smoke weed or get high but we did have to watch out for a few of the guests in that regard. We also had to watch out for guest exposing her private parts repeatedly.
I don’t know if your staff was smoking weed, they were certainly smoking cigarettes, it was stated in more than one of your responses that your staff smoked in designated smoking areas only and not around guests. That is a blatant outright lie, they were smoking right outside the main door during the reception, as well as right outside the tent used for cocktail hour and during the entire rehearsal. For you to say they were not smoking around guests is false, they did the entire time. This is the first I heard from anyone about a guest exposing herself, but I have no doubt you were watching like a hawk for this. Thank you for your service.

*The owner never made any passes at anyone. He was running around trying to make their wedding songs and lighting fit their ever-changing song choices and schedule, as well as finding tables because they refused to have the caterer bring tables for the food, so we brought out the only extra tables we have which are round. Their chosen caterer's contract clearly explained that he didn't provide tables. They failed to rent tables as needed.
You tied several points in one here, but the one that’s most important you just glossed right over. The owner never made a pass at anyone?? To be fair, I don’t know if the guy making comments and hitting on people was the owner or not, but it did happen repeatedly and it was a staff member doing it. You can say it didn’t happen, but it’s a little odd that nearly every review from this wedding says something to this effect. Blowing this kind of complaint off with eight words is the second reason I felt you earned this review.

*Children were never told they couldn't run on the grounds. However, they were not allowed to run and roughhouse inside the Mansion.
People were absolutely told they could not run, I heard this myself and it was not in the house, it was outside. Nobody came close to running “roughhouse” in the mansion. My son was the only child I saw in the mansion, and I was with him every moment to make sure he didn’t mess with anything in the few moments we were not in the groomsman’s dressing room. I did this to try to respect YOUR property, the same courtesy was not afforded to our property when you decided to “confiscate” a gift from someone else’s property.

*The Brides cottage was immaculate when they arrived, but of course was full of trash when they were finished. So if he noticed trash it would have been what they brought.
My wife was one of the first ones to the Bridal Cottage, she said there was trash in it when she got there, and it was generally not clean. Immaculate is a poor choice of words as it means perfect or free from any flaws, this was not that. Cleanliness itself is subjective though, and perhaps it was up to your standard, but it would seem from the numerous reviews that it wasn’t to the standard expected at a wedding venue. As far as it being full of trash when we finished, I helped clean the bridal cottage, it was clean when we left, and we’ve already covered who has a higher standard of cleanliness.

*The house was unlocked and attended until the last hour of the reception. At anyone's request access was immediately granted and at the end of the reception it was again unlocked and attended. We don't allow groups to randomly access the mansion.
I completely understand not wanting people to randomly access the mansion, however; it was locked way more than an hour before the end of the reception. I would know this because I had to go back multiple times to get things for my son. You almost have a reasonable point here, but once again the reality was different from what you stated.
The level of “micromanaging” along with the issues listed above made what should have been an incredible night into a bit of a fiasco. This is the only wedding I’ve been to with these kinds of issues, you can blame our group if you’d like, but yours is the only wedding venue I’ve been to that had so many problems and certainly the first to remove a gift from someone’s personal property. You have potentially one of the most beautiful places to get married in the state, yet you somehow managed to make everyone overlook this fact.

Warning warning warning, stay away from this place!

This a beautiful place for a wedding, but don’t let that fool you. The owners and management are horrible. They ruined my daughters wedding.
Where do I start?
1:It started with the owners wanting us to supply all the beer and wine and them sell it and keep ALL the money from owe purchase.
2: The owners and staff smoked the whole time we were there and the place smells of cigarette smoke, not to mention the “weed” smell from some of the staff.
3: Very, very rude staff and owners.
4: the owner kept hitting on the brides mother and made all the woman in the bridal party very nervous.
5: The temps dropped into the low 50’s. The cocktails during the photos was in a large carnival tent with portable heaters. We turned them on, they turned them off. They said we would have to pay $150 per heater otherwise we just have to put up with the cold. The brides maids were freezing with bare shoulders and arms and the guest were so cold some had to leave.
6: the bridal cottage was extremely small, dirty and had trash in the trash can, a dirty toilet with only 1 roll of toilet paper. No water heater.
7: The bride had to walk across the grass to the gazebo about 40 yards, they didn’t mow the grass as we were told they would, didn’t rake up the leaves and the gazebo had spider web’s everywhere and was also very dirty. Not even swept or leaf blowered to remove all the acorns, dirt, sticks and leaves away. With the brides long train it ruined a $2,500 dress.
8: The audio system was cheap and sounded horrible.
9: They had our $800 DJ on the 2nd floor overlooking the reception area. No one could request songs/music. We couldn’t understand him when he talked due to their cheap audio system.
10: They told us they would clean up after the reception...nope, made us bus the tables while they stood and watched.
11: They make you park about 500 yards away in a grassy area causing the bride, bridesmaids and anyone else in high heels left to walk on a gravel road to the venue. They told us they would have a golf cart there to drive them up the hill to the venue...nope, you have to find someone and then they have to radio to find a worker to bring the cart, leaving these girls to stand and freeze in the cold temps.
12: Since we didn't bring the beer and wine for them to sell and keep all the money, they had their own to sell, a can of beer was $5, cheap wine was $7 for a 2 fingers glass depth.
13: In order to get into the main house, where they had the men’s dressing room, we constantly had to find someone to let us in. They kept the doors locked.
14: The worst of it was when the bride and groom were about to leave, there was a note on the happily married couple that said no unauthorized alcohol could be on the property and Sid to contact the owner. The owner said they had to,pay them a $1,200 fine. It turned out one of the groomsmen put it in the bed of the truck where one of the workers told them to leave it. It was 1 six pack of beer, unopened.
15: When the groom told the owner he didn’t bring any beer, the owner said it doesn’t matter. The bride got understandably upset and the groom couldn’t believe it.
16: They make everyone sign an injury waver before entering. They even told the small children they couldn’t run and could only walk.
17: The whole place and grounds were disgustingly dirty.
18: They didn’t have enough tables for the guest. The caterers had to put the food out on round tables. I guess we were lucky, they wanted the food set up in the kitchen and make all the guest walk through the nasty kitchen to get their plates.
19: when they would talk to anyone for any reason, it seamed they had cigarettes in the their had the entire time and was waving their cigarettes in the face of the guest like a pointer. Discussing!

I could go on and on and on, but if you use this California couples venue you will find out yourself leaving a bad review.. And you will be very sorry. Especially the bride having her wedding ruined by the cheap, stoned cigarette smokers.
We couldn’t believe how rude, unprofessional and stoned the owners and staff was.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
