Lalita, from Sarah Elizabeth Events, was the Wedding “Day of Coordinator” for our daughter’s recent wedding in Big Sur. A coordinator is one of those things you can’t really see the full value of until you experience it. I entered in having thoughts like, Do we really need this? or I hope it’s worth it! Now that we are on the other side of it, I simply cannot imagine things going nearly as well without Lalita. We had a lot of logistics to consider in Big Sur. The best decision my partner and I made was hiring Sarah as our wedding planner.
At first we started looking for vendors on our own, and we quickly became extremely overwhelmed and did not know where to begin. Our wedding was a destination wedding and although we had visited the area before, we did not know where to find good vendors in the area. After interviewing at least three wedding planners, we decided to hire Sarah for her full planning package. She took all of the stress and pressure of planning a wedding off of our shoulders and our experience was nothing but fun from start to finish. Her expertise and knowledge helped us through every step of the process, creating a wedding timeline with tips on which vendors to book first, and providing us with incredible recommendations for every vendor, from floral to catering that we never would have found on our own! For example, after finding out how much of foodies we are, Sarah recommended the perfect caterer who tailored a custom menu to my partner and I’s vision who we enjoyed working with so much.

When we booked our wedding venue in Big Sur, we did not realize that the remote location would pose a lot of logistical challenges for all of the vendors. Thankfully for us, Sarah was well versed in planning weddings in the area and even the exact venue. She had no problem coordinating with the vendors and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day.

She had so many great suggestions on decor, ambiance, and style all while keeping within our budget and our own personal vision for what our special day could be.

After a year of planning with Sarah, sourcing all of our vendors, speaking with us regularly to check in on our progress, and putting all the pieces together, our day finally arrived and was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. Hiring Sarah’s team for month- and day-of coordination for our wedding was definitely one of the best investments we made! We hired Sarah Elizabeth Events for our month-of wedding coordination, and it was the best decision we made! After my first call with Sarah, I could tell she was knowledgeable and her very calm yet enthusiastic personality would be a perfect match for our needs. Stacey ended up being our assigned coordinator, and when we started chatting a month before the wedding date, she had the same energy as Sarah and jumped right into work! Her communication was top-notch and even when things got extra stressful the week leading up to the big day, Stacey remained so cool. The rain forecast was not looking great, but she continued to advocate for me with our venue to stick to our plan of an outdoor ceremony. Even in all the rain and last minute decision making, Stacey never showed an ounce of worry. On top of all of this going on, she also set up our decor and helped tear it all down, which is definitely not a one-person job. Everything was so beautiful and went as smooth as possible. Sarah was so great to work with!!! We literally could not have done it without her. She was so kind and positive as well and made everything easier. She helped the months prior to the wedding with timeline and came to appointments with us, and was amazing on the day of! I felt so much better having her there to take care of everything, including a million small things I never would have thought of. She’s the best, definitely worth it!!!

Sarah is the best! We were looking for a day of coordinator for our wedding at Roaring Camp, but we ended up hiring Sarah for more than just day of coordinating! She took two very overwhelmed lovebirds and really helped us through the planning process. She is very knowledgeable, encouraging and positive. On the day of the wedding, she was amazing! We didn't feel one ounce of stress because we knew Sarah had everything under control! We couldn't have asked for a better wedding coordinator!

I honestly do not know where to begin. From our first call, I felt safe and excited to work with Sarah—she even asked if I was a wedding planner because we were so in sync and ready to go! I booked Sarah right away as a day of/month of wedding coordinator and my experience was wonderful. She even checked in occasionally and offered some vendor recommendations prior to her official start time with me. The first time I met her at the venue to do our initial walkthrough, she was so effortlessly detailed with what was needed to be done, asked all the right questions (many of which I had no idea I needed to answer lol), and my favorite part of all was her, “it’s your day, you do whatever the heck you want” attitude. She made sure the month leading up to the wedding that everything was set and ready to go, so that I didn’t have to worry about the extra stuff.

Now for the day of the wedding. My absolute favorite moment was when Sarah approached me and said, “I don’t see the amber cups, did you still want them?”….I looked her dead in the eye and said, “I need them”… she looked me in the eye and said, “don’t worry, I’ll make it happen.” And do you think she made it happen? Hell yes she did! Our photo booth people even got lost that day and ended up at another location and Sarah in the most calming manner, let me know about the situation and handled it right away— even making sure we were reimbursed for the time lost. To be honest, her professionalism, empathy, and support helped me feel and stay calm during the entire process. I could not have made a better choice with having Sarah to make sure my wedding went as smooth as it did. She knows what she’s doing and she is the biggest sweetheart.
