I had a wonderful experience using Salon Be for my wedding! Beautiful hair and makeup services by Kathy and Eryn.

I am VERY happy that I did a hair trial (I’m less particular about makeup, so I didn’t do a trial for that). Kathy and I spent about 2 hours together in the salon tweaking my hairstyle until we found just the right look; I was super impressed and grateful for the amount of time she spent with me during the trial. I am not local to the area, so I scheduled my trial for 4 days before the wedding. It was absolutely worth it, and I would highly recommend this for any Bride!

For future brides: I had scheduled 45 minutes per service per person, but I might suggest adding an extra 15 minutes to your Bride services if you have a strict timeline. We were running a little tight on our makeup schedule by the end of the morning.

Katie did an amazing job bringing my wedding hair to life. I have naturally curly hair, and after a trial that didn't go as expected with another vendor she stepped in on the big day and helped my curls shine. We had a small group the day of the wedding (bride, SIL, MIL and Mother of the Bride), and Katie was so welcoming and understanding with all of us. Thank you Katie for helping to make our day great!

I hired Salon be to do the makeup for my wedding day, and I'm so thankful I did! Kathy and Eryn did the makeup for 7 women and myself. They were such a pleasure to have in the bridal suite the morning of the wedding! They kept the tone in the room fun and light-hearted. Their work was beautiful and they managed to make everyone look like an elevated version of themselves. No one had any cakey makeup or looked out of place. And the best part - my makeup looked great even at the end of the night - despite wedding day tears, sweat and dancing all night long!

I'd happily encourage anyone in the Tahoe/Reno area looking for makeup services to hire Salon be! Their professionalism and talents are crucial to have on your wedding day.

I chose Salon Be for my wedding day makeup and hair, and I'm so glad I did! It was me, my mom, my mother-in-law, my sister and two friends. The Salon was comfortable and welcoming for the six of us (they had snacks provided, and mimosas!) and we had a lot of fun hanging out and getting made up together. All of the stylists were skilled and friendly, and when something wasn't perfect, they were responsive and happy to fix it until it was! All of the girls told me how happy they were with the experience. We all felt so beautiful on the day (the stylists were happy to look at inspiration pictures for all of us, and helped me put in special hair pieces and my veil) and I would definitely recommend Salon Be for wedding hair and makeup! Thank you so much!!

This salon was amazing! They did hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids and I couldn’t have been more pleased! Plus the girls were super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend them to any bride!

Eryn did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I couldn't have asked for a better stylist. She really listened to me and helped me look like the best possible version of myself (rather than an intricately, fussed-over version that I wouldn't recognize). The air brush makeup and false lashes were well worth the additional charge--my makeup looked natural but didn't budge all night.

Salon Be was a great choice for our hair and makeup on site in Tahoe City. They were on time and got all of our hair and makeup done with time to spare. They were very affordable, even with the travel fee. And everyone looked wonderful! I was thrilled with my makeup, which looked flawless and stayed on without a single smudge all night, despite me blubbering during the ceremony! I even slept in it (oops) and it still looked great the next day! My hair was also lovely. Very intricate design for the updo. My only qualm was that it didn't last long. Pieces started to fall down by the end of the ceremony (not entirely their fault, people kept hugging me, which was tugging on my veil) and my bridesmaids had to find new bobby pins to prop it up a few times that night. Other than that minor issue, Salon Be was perfect!

I cannot recommend Salon Be for bridal hairstyling services.

I scheduled a trial appointment in advance of my wedding, hoping to finalize a hairstyle that could be confidently replicated on the big day without requiring further instruction or adjustment. The trial cost $175 (not including tip), and I left feeling confident in the look we had created together.

Unfortunately, the hairstyle I received on my wedding day was dramatically different from the trial. The braids were significantly thinner, positioned awkwardly high on my head, and pulled back so tightly that it created the appearance of a bald spot between my bangs and the rest of my hair. It was not only unflattering—it looked completely unfinished.

Despite my efforts to communicate these concerns during the limited time available on a busy wedding morning, the stylist made only superficial changes. She removed and redid the braids but failed to address the specific issues I mentioned—namely the size, placement, and tension. Additionally, the minimal styling that was done didn’t hold up, losing its shape within the first hour.

Seeing my professional wedding photos has been disappointing, as the final look was not only different from the trial but genuinely unattractive. I had hoped the stylist would simply recreate the hairstyle we had carefully developed, which was the entire purpose of doing a trial in the first place.

I genuinely cannot understand how the stylist considered the final result “complete.” Ironically, I styled my own hair for our welcome event the night before, and it looked significantly better than the style I paid for on my wedding day.
