We met with Sheila and she was very pleasant. The three of us had went through what we wanted in the ceremony and what we didn't want. We discussed with her that our wedding was an intimate one and that we would not be needing a rehearsal dinner nor a rehearsal ceremony. We
asked her to keep our ceremony simple and that we would be writing our own vows. She appeared to be agreeable to this information. My husband had then asked if she was unable to show on the day of our wedding if there was someone to take her place. She had stated that she had a back up, but she had only ever needed to use them once. We had then gone over our personalized contract with her in which she had signed. We gave her a copy and stated we would see her at the wedding.
On the day of our wedding:
As is most weddings, it's pretty busy and full of heightened emotions. As the bride there was plenty I still had to complete to be ready to walk down the aisle. However, my husband and I were ready (and on time mind you) but we're waiting on our officiant Sheila Rae. It's incredibly unprofessional for an entire wedding to be waiting for the officiant to arrive. Yet, being the reasonably kind woman I am, I gave her a few minutes to be late since it was storming on our wedding day. After a few minutes passed I started to worry. My MOH and the venue scrambled to find an officiant at such short notice. My MOH finally got in touch with Sheila Rae and Sheila stated, "Oh, I thought they didn't need me since we hadn't spoke since the appointment and they didn't have a rehearsal dinner." Mind you we signed a contract and agreed she would officiate the wedding. She then told my MOH that she can be there as soon as possible. By this point the venue had already found an officiant and my MOH told her not to bother. This woman is unprofessional and should not be an officiant if this is what she deems professional.
Our rating for this officiant is a zero out of 5 stars
