About

Shalom and greetings from me, Cantor Adam Feder. Based in New York City, I officiate beautiful ceremonies inspired by each couple's unique needs and values. Congratulations on taking this special step in your relationship. I will sensitively and joyfully serve as your guide(s) through the wedding process, from planning to the big day itself. I take time to get to know you so I can curate an unforgettable ceremony. For me, planning your wedding is a co-creative process ultimately guided by both of you. Rooted in Jewish tradition and with an open heart to the uniqueness of each couple, I look forward to celebrating your love and commitment with a ceremony that is right for you - traditional, interfaith, same-sex, or spiritual. I am a licensed Interfaith Minister, and possess academic counseling credentials. I offer you the option for marriage empowerment sessions (pre-marital counseling). Either way, I am committed to being right there with you to match your style and needs.

Some of our couples have invited us to help celebrate their growing families with baby naming ceremonies, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and more. I can’t wait to hear from you and look forward to being there for you.

Additionally, “The Shul Band”, my virtuoso world music ensemble, is available for your wedding reception and party. Feel free to ask me about our package deal.

Excellent - highly recommended!

Rabbi Reuben was phenomenal. We helped us have the most perfect ceremony, and was extremely informative and communicative about everything not just on the day — but leading up to our wedding. We wanted to bring religion into our ceremony in a way that resonated with us — and Rabbi Reuben really understood that and tailored our ceremony around what we wanted. We spoke several times before, and he really cared to learn about us as a couple and did an excellent job at helping us understand how the day would go. Super friendly and insightful, and the day was great and personal thanks to the Rabbis touch.

Great Rabbi, very gracious!

Rabbi Modek was just the man for the job. We were not particularly religious, but wanted to have a traditional and beautiful Jewish ceremony. We hoped for a rabbi who felt personal and interested in us as a couple, but not too religious. Rabbi Modek met with us in person, and also had multiple phone calls and emails with us to discuss and personalize the ceremony. He was always prepared for any questions we had, reliable, and a pleasure to work with. The actual ceremony was perfect - the right mix of poignant, personal, humorous, and traditional. We'd highly recommend Rabbi Modek!

Rabbi Reuben Modek is awesome!

We had Rabbi Reuben lead our wedding ceremony and he exceeded any expectation that we had. He is extremely professional and has a passion for being of service to his clients.
Rabbi Reuben met with us several times before the wedding and helped us to craft a service that was meaningful and grounded in Jewish traditions, yet open minded with elements of a few other cultures that were important to us.
We truly felt that Rabbi Reuben "just gets us". He added the missing element that we were craving to complete our wedding and make it uniquely ours.
Since our wedding, Rabbi Reuben has become an integral part of our lives and continues to be our Rabbi for life cycle events.
Simply put, Rabbi Reuben is a gift and a blessing to anyone that he serves!
