Reviews of Rabbi Mel Hecht

Don't think twice. This is the right Rabbi

I can't say enough good things about Rabbi Hecht. The booking process was very informal. He gave us all the information we needed over the phone, met us at our hotel to get to know us and to make sure he knew what we wanted from the ceremony. He was the only Rabbi willing to travel an hour outside of town to our destination, but wouldn't have wanted anyone else. What an intelligent, compassionate and humorous man! Our wedding would not have been the same without him, and we wish him the best moving forward.

I cannot find the words to express what an incredible job Rabbi Mel did for our wedding! Our wedding was a destination wedding so I had met the Rabbi once, months before the wedding when I was scouting venues, and my husband did not meet him until two days before the wedding. It didn't matter - the service that Rabbi Mel gave was so beautiful and meaningful, it was as though he had known us for years. My husband and I are both Jewish, but non-practicing. Rabbi Mel gave us just the right level of religion and culture for us. He was kind, he was smart, he was funny, he was a gem! Thank you for a beautiful ceremony, Rabbi Mel!!

It was really important to me to have a Rabbi as our officiant at our wedding. Rabbi Mel made our wedding perfect. He met with us the day before, spent over an hour getting to know us so he could personalize our ceremony. He was personable, he took the time to explain everything, he made my husband feel comfortable (I'm Jewish, my husband is not), and did such a wonderful job. I can only say that if you are looking for a Rabbi for a Las Vegas wedding, (or an officiant, he will marry non jewish couples too) you can be assured he will make your wedding personal and special.

I am so thankful we found Rabbi Mel.

We had Rabbi Hecht officiate out wedding service. I am Jewish and my now husband was raised catholic. Rabbi Hecht was so respectful and performed the perfect combination of religious and funny. It was a very moving ceremony and we had many guests tell us how wonderful the ceremony was. He did lose his place one time during the ceremony, but that actually lightened the mood and made our ceremony seem informal and casual (just like we wanted). Overall, I highly recommend Rabbi Mel Hecht. He was a good price and responsive (don't bother emailing, he will promptly answer phone calls). He even met with us as soon as we got into Vegas (at 10pm at night) so we wouldn't feel like a stranger married us. Plus, we felt honored to be married by someone who had contributed as much to equality and peace as Rabbi Mel Hecht.

All of our guests made it a point to tell us how much they enjoyed our ceremony/Rabbi. He was funny (but not too funny), Serious (but not too serious) and just did a great job.

Rabbi Hecht had the unfortunate experience of dealing with a flat tire on the morning he was heading to officiate my ceremony. Despite the hour delay, I could not have been more pleased with his services. He kept our ceremony short and sweet (exactly what I wanted) and incorporated humor into the ceremony which kept it light and romantic. I highly recommend him!

What an honor to be able to review Rabbi Hecht. He brought tradition and good humor to our service. He met with us before the ceremony and got to know us and the unique issues of our interfaith relationship. I needed to feel Jewish and my husband needed to feel included. Rabbi Hecht was a true blessing.

Rabbi Mel Hecht married us on New Year's Eve, 1987. Then, he bat mitsva'd our daughter in 2002. Nobody puts more heart and soul into his work than Rabbi Hecht. We are still talking about him, and the blessings he gave us.

For a destination wedding, Rabbi Mel really took the time to get to know my husband and I, since I was Jewish and my husband is Catholic. His ceremony was both serious, but had its light humorous moments as well. Any couple would be lucky to have him officiating. Everybody loved him - both sets of parents and guests!
