A sophisticated and approachable string band. They wield a wide variety in their repertoire, and they learned a song outside of that repertoire for our special occasion then performed it well. I have only positive things to say about this band.

It would be hard for me to overstate what Plum Blossom Music added to our Wedding event!
Throughout the planning process we worked with Peter to find a flow between the Ceremony & the Cocktail hour—each creating different feelings but with seamless continuity. Peter was very accessible, responsive and facile in his thinking with us about what we were hoping to create and how we could do that within our budget.
While he was a consummate professional he was also very friendly with a grounding influence!
Clearly, Peter knows a lot about the issues of amplification for his music and, with the Ceremony being outside and the Cocktail Hour inside, that was important ! He joined our ‘team’ and was helpful in thinking about additional mics for the ceremony and the placement of his group at the Venue too.
All that being said, those were important practical issues I knew little about before this Wedding Event so it gave me confidence that he was paying attention to the details, took pride in what he was doing and that I could trust him.
Then there was the music—-It was simply beautiful.
Whether the Trio was performing the Ceremony’s processional (which they’ve likely done 1000 times) or a quick beat “hillbilly” piece during the Cocktail Hour, they were engaged, vibrant and fun to have as part of our event!
I believe that when anyone does their work artfully, they can make it look easy!
These musicians made it look easy—they were artists from start to finish!

The Early Grove String Band played at our outdoor brunch reception. It's hard for me me to put into words exactly what they added to the day but I do know that the day wouldn't have been the same or nearly as special without them there. The music was lovely and perfect for the kind of event we had, the musicians had a really nice energy about them (it felt like having friends there), and they seamlessly added to and elevated the event.

The entire exploration and booking process with Peter was very pleasant and easy- Peter provided enough information about the different musical groups for me to easily make a decision.

Plum Blossom did a fantastic job playing music at our ceremony and cocktail hour! They were incredibly responsive throughout the planning process, and tailored the music to our taste and feedback. Plum Blossom String Quartet played for our daughter’s wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on 10/14/17. I made the initial contact through Sam Hill Entertainment but my daughter took over from there. Peter was very responsive, very eager to play the type of music she wanted and even agreed to learn two new songs (which we paid an extra fee for the purchase of the music). They were extremely professional and very easy to work with. All of the music they played was absolutely beautiful and set such a nice mood for the ceremony as well as the cocktail hour. We have received many compliments about their performance. We would highly recommend them if you are looking for beautiful string music. You will not disappointed. Would love to work with them again should the opportunity arise.

It was wonderful working with Peter, who coordinated the details of the Plum Blossom String Trio music for my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He is so experienced with weddings that he had good suggestions for us. He was also able to understand what we wanted, which was classical music for the ceremony and contemporary music for the cocktail hour. I appreciate his communication during the planning, and the music at our wedding sounded beautiful!

Early Grove String Band played as a duo for our wedding, playing Appalachian music with fiddle, banjo and guitar. They were AMAZING and absolutely perfect for our small wedding. Peter was accommodating, friendly, and professional, and on the day they showed up on time and knew what to do, which was a great help. Their music was just right for us and they learned my favourite piece for the ceremony. Not a note was out of place despite the 10,000 noseeums. I cannot recommend them enough!! Thank you so much for making our day so special. You were the icing on the cake and our friends and family loved you guys. 11/10!

Oh my! there are no words to describe this amazing quartet, their versatility, professionalism and personal touch. One gets the feeling that your wedding is the only one they perform and prepare for all summer! For a year prior to our daughter's wedding, Peter and I were communicating regarding, music selection, duet music accompaniment, diversity of selections for the pre wedding music and cocktail hour. Peter even got caught in a down pour before the wedding began! With so many details to attend to and the music setting the mood for the ceremony and evening, it was priceless to have them so present and willing to give their all. Peter and the quartet took care of everything , catering to our detailed musical requests, making adjustments to give the ceremony flow, giving advice and then blessing it all with their musical talent. Plum Blossom String Quartet provided a wonderful evening of music for my daughters wedding on April 8, 2016. As a musician myself, I was very impressed with their skill and professionalism as well as their broad repertoire. They played not only the more traditional music, but also The Imperial March from Star Wars for the groom. They helped create a most memorable occasion. In addition, they were delightful to work with- always available to answer any questions- so so nice during such a fun yet hectic time.

Plum Blossom Quartet (well, we had a Trio!) swooped in and SAVED THE BIG DAY and I am eternally grateful. The week of our wedding, our string quartet canceled; I was devastated because this was the one thing I really, really wanted as part of the ceremony. Peter Markush completely saved the day, finding amazing musicians who were even willing to play a special selection at very late notice. We were incredibly impressed and grateful for their professional and reasonable services. Would recommend them a million times over.
