Who we are...

PhotoSynthesis Studio was founded in 2004 by owner and lead photographer Devon Morgan. After graduating with a degree in Photojournalism, Devon felt an impersonal void with the lifestyle of being a photojournalist. Relationships with clients were short lived; her highly-personal work was front-page one day and then gone the next.

Upon shooting her first wedding, she found a place where she could use her talents for artistry and storytelling but also develop true, lasting friendships with her clients. This was a much more fulfilling way to not only celebrate her passion for photography, but to capture the love between two people on one of the most important and beautiful days of their lives.

PhotoSynthesis Studio is a family of meticulously-selected photographers who share a vision, style and love for photography. We are well-respected, award-winning photographers and all-around nice people, we think. We’re dedicated to making beautiful and telling images that not only show how your day looked, but more importantly how it FELT. We avoid fly-by-night hobbyists who, while they may have an excellent eye for photography, may not be experts at shooting weddings.

While we primarily shoot journalistic candids, we have an eye AND education for fine portraiture as well, a side that we feel is especially important during a wedding & something you won’t find in most wedding photojournalists. This hybrid shooting style results in a cohesive mix of both candids that ooze with personality AND artfully-composed, natural portraits.
