Founded by photographer Alessandro Banchelli in 2008, PhotostudioAB has been photographing destination weddings throughout the Riviera Maya for more than 18 years. Based in Playa del Carmen, we are a local photography team with an in-depth knowledge of the area's beaches, cenotes, resorts, private venues, light and unique landscapes.
Our approach combines documentary photography with an editorial eye. We capture genuine emotions, spontaneous moments and the atmosphere of your celebration while also creating beautifully composed portraits that feel natural, elegant and timeless.
But great photography is only part of the experience.
After almost two decades working in the Riviera Maya, we know how to anticipate the unexpected, work smoothly with wedding planners and resort teams, understand the local light and help couples feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Our goal is simple: to make photography one less thing for you to worry about.

I cant even put into words how happy myself, my husband and our families are with our photos and videos. The amount of love, comfort, assistance, re-assurance and confidence alessandro and his team brought to our day is UNMATCHED. My husband and I get very nervous in front of the camera but alessandro knew exactly how to make us laugh, how to pose us, what moments we did not even know we needed captured he captured. I gave him absolutely ZERO direction on how we wanted our videos and photos edited and yet he completely understood our style and vibe and produced exactly what we dreamed of. I gave photostudioAB my blind confidence and I am SO happy I did because the final product could not have been more perfect. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

I would give 10 stars if I could! Alessandro was so amazing to work with! Planning an elopement ceremony across the world is a little bit nerve wracking, but Alessandro made the whole experience so seamless and easy. He was great to communicate with; in the months leading up to our ceremony there were more than 30 emails exchanged. Even the week of the ceremony he was messaging and touching base to make sure that we were comfortable and ready for the ceremony. Him and his team made the whole experience exactly what we wanted it to be and so much more. The area was a dream, and we just had the best time! We so appreciate the perfect elopement experience that they were able to create for us! I would recommend Alessandro to absolutely anyone looking for a fun and easy experience that was tailored to exactly what you want to make it so personal and intimate

This cenote wedding in Tulum was truly unique and unforgettable. The Mayan ceremony, immersed in nature and surrounded by authentic energy, created a deeply emotional and spiritual atmosphere. A truly incredible experience
Our elopement in a cenote in Tulum was an incredible experience. The ceremony took place inside a natural cave, creating an intimate and magical atmosphere.
The most special moment was the photo session inside the cave: the natural light filtering from above created truly spectacular images. Excellent experience and fantastic photos
We booked Alessandro's photography service for our wedding in Akumal. On the day of the wedding, the photostudioab team arrived early so that they could start the photo shoot on time. Everything was perfect, the guys worked cheerfully and professionally, and the guests enjoyed their presence. The photos they delivered to us after two weeks are wonderful!!! We wholeheartedly recommend photostudioAB.
