I contacted Thom with about 3 weeks notice to see if he could perform a renewal. Being December, he had some space. He was very easy to work with and he created a perfect ceremony for us. In short, I wanted to hike into a less visited area in southern Utah with a combination of lava and cross-bedded sandstone. I know, specific. We walked in, found the right geology, and had a beautiful ceremony. If you love the outdoors and have a sense of adventure, I wholeheartedly recommend Outland Officiant (Thom).

Thomas was amazing! From the initial contact through the wedding, Thomas helped make our day special. We were coming from out of state and Thomas provided us step-by-step instructions on how to get a marriage license. He also talked with us to get an understanding of how we wanted the ceremony to go and to get to know us on a personal level. The day of the wedding, he went above and beyond. He and his wife got there early and even pitched in helping to do some last minute decorating. But it was his officiating that really stood out. He made it personal, loving, and funny, all at the same time. Several guests came up to us after the wedding and asked us how long we had known him. He and his wife even stayed and danced, which I have not seen before. He made it genuine. I highly recommend. Thomas was professional and personable at the same time. He was awesome!

I didn’t realize writing a review for someone that was such a special part of such a wonderful day would be so emotional. Our ceremony with Kyle Shepherd and Thomas Tobin could not have been more perfect. Thom took so much time to really get to know us and our unique story. He transformed and told our story in a beautiful way that felt like an old friend was performing our wedding, not someone we met in person 30 minutes before the ceremony. Although we live across the country from each other, we will forever be connected by this beautiful and perfect ceremony. A million words could never demonstrate the gratitude we have from Thom.

I had been struggling to find an officiant and was so excited when I found Thomas and he confirmed he could be there for my ceremony. Thomas stayed in contact with me over the months and made the process very easy. He was flexible with the timing and arrived a little early. When I met him he was very friendly and cracked some jokes. He was a great addition to our day and I couldn’t be happier.

Thomas exceeded our expectations and made our dream outdoorsy elopement come true, plus more! I really only expected him to be willing to trek with us to a spot with beautiful views and do a short ceremony. However, he did way more than that. He did thorough research and helped us find a beautiful safe spot. It was just us at the spot with no tourist or passersby, which was awesome! I had no idea how much planning goes into having an outdoor elopement in the canyons (ie, weather, time of the day, correct vehicle to off road, sunlight, etc). Thomas ensured that all of these things were considered and made recommendations, which I don't think was technically part of his job. He was also very personable and the ceremony he provided was heartfelt and made me feel emotional. I am so grateful we found him! Thank you for going above and beyond and making our day special!

We had a great experience using Thom as an Officiant. Being out-of-towners doing an elopement style wedding, we didn't know anybody in the area (let alone State) who could legally perform our ceremony. He was referred to us by his SIL (Kyle loves Tori Photography) and we couldn't have been happier! Even though we had only chatted a few times over email, we felt comfortable talking to Thom and felt like we had met dozens of times. He's very kind, professional, prompt, and has an easy spirit. He made our special day enjoyable - and legal!

We highly recommend having Thom as the officiant for your wedding! Especially, if you are getting married in any of the Utah State or National Parks. We had a very small wedding in Zion National Park and Thom kept our family company in the cold weather while we were running late to the place of the ceremony. He has a warm, welcoming presence that instantly makes everyone feel like he’s part of the family. The moment he married us the sun literally came out from the clouds and warmed up the park - it couldn't have turned our better. My parents only critique of our wedding was that they wish we had invited Thom and his wife Misty to come to dinner so we could spend more time with them. They are lovely people and they are without a doubt the best choice for your wedding!
