Beautiful site

OLOS was a dream wedding ceremony site. I'm from KC originally, but live in Memphis now. I had my wedding downtown and was set on getting married in a KC church. We switched to OLOS pretty late in our planning (April before a September wedding) due to our original church not allowing an evening ceremony. It was the best decision. They were so helpful and kind in our planning process and laid everything out that needed to be done, with timely reminders. Their church coordinator is no nonsense, but gets the job done. The church is absolutely STUNNING! It required no decor. Their organist, Brad Cox, played for us and was amazing. They were great at providing support in planning the liturgy and music. Their list of suggested cantors was great. It truly was the most heartfelt ceremony and I know the ambiance of the church played a large role in that.

A wonderful setting, beautiful church and friendly staff. They were able to help with so many aspects of the wedding, we cant be more thankful.

Don't get me wrong, Our Lady Of Sorrows is gorgeous (and photography beautifully) and I knew it was expensive before I booked it so me rating it 2 stars for value may be unfair since that was my choice. That being said, at the end of the wedding process spending $1,500 for a pretty church just isn't worth it. I also didn't know when I made the decision to spend that kind of money how many restrictions they would have. Again, this is my own fault. They won't line up your wedding party or open the doors for you. You, your family and the wedding party are told you can't bring in candy, gum or a WATER BOTTLE during the service. The wedding director that we dealt with was also rude. During the rehearsal she never thanked us for coming before she began her lecture on us not drinking. I am catholic, I love being catholic, I can understand strict. What I don't understand is not welcoming us to the church before lecturing all of us on getting drunk before a 1pm service. Overall, it wasn't the best choice I made for my day. It wasn't a BAD one, it didn't ruin anything, they just aren't the nicest to work with.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
