Oakhurst is a centennial farm with a hundred years of southern elegance and charm. The farm has been in the family since 1901, owners Lynda and Lon Marlowe acquired the farm in 1978. With son Morgan and daughter Ellie, the Marlowe’s continued Oakhurst’s farming tradition operating the farm as a cattle and hay farm.
The Marlowe’s cherished the farm’s southern beauty and wanted to share it with others. In 2001, the Marlowe’s crafted unique settings on the farm for special events and occasions. In the middle of the farm, is the main hall and gardens, offering southern elegance and charm for any event. With the Georgia countryside as the background, any wedding, reunion, conference, or other event will surely be a uniquely, southern experience.
Oakhurst visionary and founder, Lon Marlowe designed Oakhurst to be a special place and until his death in 2015, directed the family business and put together a team with backgrounds in teaching, nursing, and ministry to serve Oakhurst’s guests.
He wanted Oakhurst to be special for everyone who stepped on the land and often said, "There are places that etch themselves upon the imagination...now one is closer than you thought." This quote and desire from Lon, serves as Oakhurst’s motto and is the driving principle in their business decisions and interactions with clients and visitors.

My experience here was great. Wonderful staff especially Lynda and Alexis! They made things easy for me when it came to planning for my wedding. There was bridal shows and vendors to select from on their website. Just the sweetest ladies I know. The location is very beautiful I highly recommend the venue for any special occasion.Sent on 07/20/2018

Oakhurst is one of the most beautiful venues I have ever seen, and that is completely unbiased ;) I fell in love with the ability of the venue being indoor/outdoor. It allowed for our guests to dance the night away and then take a break by enjoying the beautiful gardens. The staff was very easy to work with and they were very sweet. There was a point at the beginning of our reception that my husband and I were being held upstairs and the staff was so sweet to bring us our dinner because it was going to be the only time we would have to ourselves to eat.Sent on 12/26/2016
