We just got married on 10/7/22 and Jamie and Bob made everything perfect!! When we met them during our engagement photo shoot I knew we were in for a treat! The photos were absolutely amazing it made me even more excited for our wedding day! They make the whole process a breeze, they even made a day of timeline! This made the day so much easier and took off some stress. From the moment we got to the venue on the wedding day Jamie and Bob took charge to make sure we got all of the photos and more that we could have dreamed of! All of our guests were raving about how professional and great they were, they even made a same day photo display on their iPad for guests to see during the reception!!! We will always recommend Northern Lights Photography whenever we can!! They made our fairytale come to life and we cannot wait to get back the rest of our photos!! Can’t thank you guys enough!!

Working with Jamie, Bob, and Susan was such an amazing experience on our wedding day! All of them were extremely kind and professional and made sure our day ran smoothly. Each of them helped ensure that our day was as stress free as possible so we could truly be in the moment. The pictures they took were beautiful and they even had a slideshow set out on a table during our reception of what they were able to capture that day! Jamie, Bob, and Susan are the dream team! Not only are they extremely professional and responsive, they are so fun! We had rain on our wedding day and Jamie helped keep me calm and took the most beautiful pictures! I can’t thank her enough for capturing our day and letting us relive it through her pictures! My husband and I were extremely impressed with Jamie and her team! After one look at their expansive and beautiful online portfolio, I knew we needed to reach out to see if they were available for our wedding date. During our initial correspondence via email and after meeting Jamie and Bob for the first time (pre-pandemic) at a local coffee shop, I canceled every other meeting we had scheduled with other photographers. Her email response time was unlike any vendor I had encountered during my wedding planning process. And they came prepared to our meeting with a Wedding Photography Guide (that Jamie designed herself), sample portfolio albums, and the right answers to any question I could possibly think of!

During our engagement session, Jamie and Bob treated us like close friends as they walked us through the different poses and never became frustrated even though it was miserably hot. She provided sneak peaks of our shoot almost instantly and had our gallery ready within a week or so.

I used her Wedding Photography Guide religiously as I thought through our wedding day activities. Even though we were months out from our wedding, she quickly answered and provided much needed insight. A few weeks before the wedding we filled out her survey online with our must-have photos and all the details for our day. Soon after, she replied with a wedding timeline that tracked our movements down to the minute! Being detail-oriented myself, I was extremely pleased with her attention to each part of the day and that she had considered things I hadn't even thought of myself.

The day of our wedding, Jamie, Bob and their new assistant Susan arrived on time and jumped into action to keep us on schedule. We opted not to do a first look, but my husband and I still managed to get a ton of really great shots together throughout the day. The team even managed to coordinate photographs ahead of the ceremony on the same property without my husband or I seeing each other (even around corners from each other). They captured a ton of precious memories at our ceremony, our decorations, our guests throughout the night, and the "must-have" moments like our first dance, parent dances, and cake cutting. They weren't afraid to go off-road to capture perfect shots near swampy ponds or through the fields.

We received sneak peaks that night, a few additional posts on instagram a few days later, a full blog post about our wedding during our honeymoon, and our gallery (almost 1000 photos) to review while we waited to board our plane home! THEY WERE THAT FAST! A few weeks later we received a beautifully etched USB drive of our files in the mail. The quality blew my mind. They think of everything! I am currently still working with Jamie to design our wedding album, but I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

10/10!!! Amazing people to work with and so happy with the final product. We've been showing our photos off to friends and family for weeks!

Jamie and Bob are absolutely wonderful! The work so well together and are so organized! They have great communication and worked so well with getting the bridal party together and the family. I’m absolutely blow away with how amazing our pictures turned out! Jamie does an outstanding job and is so patient, and Bob is so helpful and pays so much attention to detail. I swear they are the dream team of photos! You can’t go wrong with this team!

Jamie and her husband Bob did an amazing job with everything! I can’t say enough nice things. I can’t imagine our day without them. They were so easy to work with and communicate with. They made us feel so comfortable and we now have tons and tons of beautiful pictures from our day. They captured all the moments we wanted and even more. Jamie and her husband went above and beyond the call of duty to scope out the location of our venues in advance of our wedding day to make sure everything would be perfectly set up for photos. They did an AMAZING job and provided us with 100% of our photos within 7 days of our wedding. They did a GREAT job!!

Jamie and Bob knocked it out of the park. Between our first meeting at a local bookstore to the Engagement photos to the Wedding photos, my wife and I were thoroughly impressed. The two of them work together as a team and do a very good job. We wanted to utilize them both as photographers for our wedding night and we are glad that we did. All of our important moments were captured perfectly and there was plenty of fun pictures of the party as well. I am still in awe at some of the photos that we were provided. I cannot emphasize enough how happy we were to have chosen them for our big day. We were (and still are) ecstatic with everything they did for us.

What's in a name......... The Northern Lights are actually the result of collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth's atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun's atmosphere. Variations in color are due to the type of gas particles that are colliding. Seen from the ground, it is truly a peaceful rendition of a violent storm.
The reason I wanted to start with this statement is because it is truly what happens (maybe not the gas part) but a collision of such energy, passion, and enthusiasm I truly cannot describe! The vision and colors are truly magical and the pictures speak for them self. I was truly in awe of how beautiful the pictures made me feel and to see my handsome husband in such a different light. They made our "storm" of what could have been a stressful and hectic wedding day just that much more peaceful!
Now to start from the beginning........
Bride here, was searching on Wedding Wire for a photographer, scrolled thru several but the story of their name Northern Lights and of Jamie's dad really caught my attention. We got married in Annapolis, MD and Jamie and Bob are from Pasadena so I gave it a shot. Jamie and I met in Annapolis at a Starbucks. We talked about wedding visions, colors, venue, etc. We learned that our favorite color, including my husband, is purple. We had an instant connection on many levels! She was a BOSS, much like myself, when it comes to the industry we are both in. We chatted some more and then she handed me the magazine and my mind was blown!!!! I had absolutely NO idea that all of those details, planning, timing, and preparing went into taking pictures at a wedding. But I am here to tell you they do SO MUCH more that just take pictures! Jamie and Bob are your right hand to guide you thru your day and make everything just that much easier. I can pretty much tell you after that I was SOLD! So we signed the dotted line chatted some more and then came the engagement photo shoot. This is when we collided on a whole different level. Donny, aka the husband, met Jamie and Bob for the first time and I am pretty sure he was just as mesmerized as I was with them. They truly are amazing people! The photo shoot was smooth and easy. They both have a way of giving you direction to achieve the perfect picture and they depend on each other for different things. Bob allows Jamie to take the lead but he is always there for a quick fix, to back her up, or to make sure you don't get stuck in the train tracks in your heels. He is the best! So the photo shoot was over and the hubby and I planned to have dinner after so we asked if Jamie and Bob would join us. And that is where it all began!
So to make a long story short we hit it off! And we were totally blessed to have found them and have them be with us during such an amazing time in our life.
So now comes the wedding day........ we had a brunch style wedding so the day started early. They were right on time if not a little early. Jamie and Bob took detail shots while I finished getting my hair and makeup done. We took twirling dress shots, MOB, and FOB first look shots, etc. They all captured every ounce of emotion of every moment of the day. Brides let me tell you, these pictures will be your memory! You will be in such a cloud of emotion and the day goes by so fast you will be forever grateful for the people that capture these moments for you! Jamie and Bob can do just that and more!
Now onto the venue........ whoops my Mom took the keys with her! MOB accidentally took the keys! EEK! So the BRIDE and FOB hopped into Jamie's White (fitting) Jeep and Bob got us to the church on time :) Yeah Bob!
So here comes the main event..... I will tell you that I don't think I really saw either one of them until after the ceremony. They blend in and are not in your face in any way shape or form, they are just there capturing every second, every person, every detail, and most importantly the joy and happiness of your special day.
We had a simple ceremony and then a reception with seated brunch after. All the pictures were perfect and I truly wouldn't change a thing. Jamie and I were on the same level of what pictures we wanted and where.
After the reception we went to the USNA Garden for some newly married shots with some greenery in the back ground. We twirled in my Cinderella dress with my shoes off in the grass and I just loved letting loose. Jamie makes you smile and laugh and you feel so comfortable with them.
The day ended and we said our goodbyes but I know that we will have many more adventures with our new found friends.
I will end my review by saying that if you are fortunate enough to have Jamie and Bob be your photographers for the most important day in your life you will NOT regret it! If I could give every Bride and Groom a gift it would be Jamie and Bob!

Where do I even begin! My now husband Brian and I got married on 10-12-18. We had a year and a half engagement and I was planning our wedding mostly by myself and had some help from my mom and bridesmaids. I had no clue really of how to plan a wedding but I did it. One of our first vendors we booked was with NorthernLights Photography. I was searching online and came across the site on weddingwire. What first caught my eye was some of their pictures they had posted. I reached out to NorthernLights and a few others. Jamie is the owner and her husband Bob is her awesome assistant (if you want to call him that because he is definitely more). What I loved was that Jamie responded pretty much right away. The communication we had was great so Brian and I decided to meet with her. Jamie was friendly, professional, and organized. Jamie told us exactly what to expect and asked us to trust her. Brian and I had one concern and that was how we would turn out in pictures. I am white, Brian is black, and our skin tones are so different taking pictures can be a problem sometimes. Jamie reassured us that that would not be a problem at all. Once Brian and I left our meeting we felt so good about having Jamie be our photographer that we booked NorthernLights that day. We did an engagement photo shoot first and it went so well. Jamie and Bob are so put together that they make an amazing team. One of my favorite things about Jamie is she has such an artistic side when is comes to her photography. She doesn't just take your "typical" pictures. Jamie and Bob wrote a Bridal Guide book and they send one to each of their brides. I received mine about a month or two before our wedding. By this time I was getting nervous and overwhelmed with all the little details I still needed to finish. The Bridal Guide was such a help. Jamie had sent me a day of the wedding timeline and I was able to make one for the bridal party off of that. When our big day came Jamie and Bob were on point. They knew where they wanted to take pictures and were super organized. Once the night was over Jamie had up our sneak peak a couple of hours later. They were AMAZING and I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
