We met with them once to sample cake flavors. Be warned that you may end up with A LOT of sample cake for very cheap. Each sample cake is 7 inches for $5!. Overall, Joanne at North Water Bakery was very easy to work with. We exchanged emails to hash out the detail of our cake. It was gorgeous and delicious. We highly recommend Cherry Swirl and Poppyseed Almond!

JoAnn's cakes are delicious. She gave great advice since our reception site had dessert for dinner she recommended how much cake to get to serve later. When you taste test you get an entire cake to take home and not just a piece which was helpful so we were able to get our families opinion.

The cupcakes for our wedding tasted wonderful! However, I had a hard time contacting the bakery to confirm details. No one returned my email or phone call. I had to have someone go in in person to talk to them about my order. I also wanted different colored frosting and they gave me only white and chocolate which I didn't find out until I saw them at my wedding. No one ever called to ask me if that was okay. Additionally, one of the flavors was wrong. It still tasted good but was not what I ordered. The price and quality was good but a little bit of a headache to work with.

A few things: the cake flavor is fantastic!....However, my husband & I took the time to sit down with the bakery prior to our wedding, they took details of what we wanted (I even provided pictures), and it still didn't turn out the way we asked it to be. The biggest issue was that we requested no fondant but it was covered entirely with fondant and then we wanted details on alternating layers but it didn't have any detailing--the fondant was left smooth. VERY Disappointing! When you pay so much for a wedding cake nowadays, it should be similar to what you request -- and ours wasn't. It would have been nice to see a partial refund, or a follow up offering some type of complimentary cake (other than just the 1 yr anniversary cake)....we are the customers and I felt that we did everything to request what we wanted and the product was not it.

Our wedding cake was delicious! However, when it came to our complimentary 1 year anniversary cake, I called 10 days after our 1 year anniversary to order our cake and was told I had to call BEFORE the 1 year anniversary! Whoever answered the phone told me that Joann would call me , that maybe she would still make our cake. That was 1 month ago and I still haven’t received a phone call from her. Very disappointed in their customer service!😞. I don’t know that I would recommend this bakery or not.
