The best decision we made (aside from getting married :))
I knew I wanted Nimbus 9 to play at my wedding long before I was even engaged. I first heard them play in the fall of 2017 at the after party of the Smuttynose half marathon in Hampton, NH. They were awesome, lively, and really had the crowd going. When I heard them play “Ants Marching” by Dave Matthews Band – WITH the full violin solo, I knew I had found something great.
Growing up in Newport, RI and working weddings as a server/bridal attendant for many years, I knew having a good band was the one component that would make or break a wedding. When the day finally came that I myself became engaged and had to start planning our wedding, Nimbus 9 was the first vendor I reached out to after we had set a date. Luckily they were available, and were willing to make the trip to Newport for our special day.
When I think of my wedding night, aside from the obvious of marrying my best friend- the dancefloor is the first thing that comes to mind. It was completely packed the entire night- EVERYONE was on their feet, dancing and singing – the energy was electric. Nimbus 9 truly made the night amazing, beyond my wildest expectations. They were so accommodating leading up to the wedding as well – we spoke on the phone with Greg on a few occasions to discuss the set list, and songs the band was willing to learn for us. They were so friendly and excited for us, and willing to work on songs that had our own special meaning.
Of course, we had them play “Ants Marching” on our night – and you can bet our guests LOST it when that violin solo came (just like I did 2 years before!). So many people asked who the band was, and I've been happy to spread their name across town. There are so many songs from that night that I have tucked away in my memory that instantly put a smile on my face when I remember them. Thank you Nimbus 9 for making our wedding truly unforgettable – you really made it the best day of our lives!
