We loved this venue! The unique space was so beautiful and we received many compliments from our guests about how gorgeous it was. If you are looking for an affordable venue where a lot of amenities like tables, chairs, linens are included and you don’t have to decorate a lot because it has so much natural beauty than this is your space! It is gorgeous!!! It holds about 220, but we felt it was perfect for our wedding of about 145 people. We had our ceremony and reception here and although I was worried about transitioning the space, it all worked great! Claire was wonderful to work with as well. I would again stress they have more included in their rental price than most venues and this venue will give your wedding a more unique edge than other venues.

We booked our 5/7/22 wedding at the Sioux Falls Museum of Visual Materials and WOW. This place is absolutely stunning. It fit perfectly the vision we had for our wedding+ceremony, and we could not have picked a better venue. Taryn and Ben were so extremely professional and helped make the wedding go off without a hitch. Ben was so quick to respond to my emails ahead of the wedding, and was so assuring and helpful with any questions or concerns I brought his way. The planning process could not have been easier and we felt like we had complete control of our wedding vision. The venue created a custom layout for our big day, provided everything we needed, from linens to chairs and tables and everything was spectacular! We brought some out-of-the box ideas and they were absolutely happy to accommodate and make everything come to fruition just as we envisioned it. I'd have my wedding here 1,000 times over if I could! The compliments from guests and family members were non-stop about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the overall experience was. I can not recommend this venue enough!!

We held our wedding reception here and were very happy with the space and all of the staff! Everyone was very helpful. The space is truly beautiful and does not require much in the way of added decoration. We enjoyed every minute of our reception here!

First, let me just begin with saying the Museum is one of the most stunning venues I’ve ever been in. It is gorgeous with even very minimal decoration, and is an absolute steal for the price. Second, the entire staff was incredibly helpful and supportive. Kaitlyn was amazing through the entire process before the day, and then Terrie, the staff member who was there the day of was AMAZING. She was so helpful and did a great job of giving direction and making sure everything went smoothly. We did both our ceremony and reception at the Museum, and even though only about 1/3 of our guests were able to make it (due to the massive blizzard) the Museum was still the perfect venue for us.

I was a little nervous as we had originally booked with Janelle, and there was a period where no coordinator was in place. However, Kaitlyn was amazing, super responsive by email which helped as I was an out of state bride, and beyond accommodating. Jocelyn was our day of coordinator, and although we had never met, she was also very kind. Pam, our bartender, was also fantastic! We got so many compliments on our venue, and you could not ask for more for the price. 100% would recommend!

Our reception at the MoVM turned out beautifully and better than we could have imagined! The event coordinator and staff were all very helpful and friendly throughout our planning process and on the day of our event. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to hold an event in the Sioux Falls area.

The Venue and Kaitlyn was beyond amazing to work with. We had a couple last minute changes unexpected and she calmed the stressed bride (me), and we worked through it together!

The Museum was everything we could have imagined in a wedding reception venue. They always responded timely to any questions or concerns I had about the day. Katelyn was wonderful to work with and she worked hard behind the scenes to make sure our reception went as smooth as possible. They were flexible in when they let us set up and allotted us extra time to tear down and pack up at the end of the night.

It was also a huge plus for us to be able to hire whichever caterer we wanted. They worked so well with all of our vendors, we didn't have to worry about a single thing the day of our wedding.

The Museum is so naturally beautiful that we were able to keep our decorations to a minimum, helping us save some extra money. All of our guests commented how beautiful the building was.

I would definitely recommend having your wedding reception here.

The museum is a gorgeous place to have a wedding reception! The original wood flooring and exposed brick adds so much beauty that decorating can reall be minimal and the place will still look gorgeous! The staff at the Museum was very easy to work with too! The only thing to make note of is that you only get to rent the place for 12 hours total. They give you an option to decorate the venue the day before an event (if the Museum is available) for an extra $75. In doing this, you only get the Museum for 8 hours the day of. This was just something that caught me off guard!

The staff from start to finish was excellent. They promptly answered any questions. Very helpful during the reception !
