After going to several Toronto bridal stores, I was disheartened and planning to fly to Florida to get my dress. I decided to give this last store (Mona Richie) a chance and THANK GOD I did. Their collection is truly impressive and one of the most varied ones I've seen; ranging from high end to affordable, foreign to local designers. As I walked in an attendant greeted me with ENTHUSIASM and asked me my wedding date, my style, any particular lines I liked, and my budget. She walked me around the various gown rooms, and kept me with her while pulling dresses. I really appreciated this, as most store attendants ask what you like and then leave you to go BY THEMSELVES to pull dresses. What I didn't like she wouldn’t pull, and what I did like she found more dresses along the same lines. She pulled dresses on my budget cut off, but also dresses way below budget. While trying on she was attentive and would wait outside as I put on the dress and then come in and clip to suit. I’m a person who hates to feel pressured, and I really appreciated the attendant's straightforward nature; a breath of fresh air after being CAJOLED by previous "trendy boutique" assistants buttering up every dress. When I tried on the second dress I knew I found THE ONE. The seamstress was accommodating with my time crunch, and we had a several fittings in short succession. My dress had A LOT of detailing, and she truly worked magic by altering the dress while keeping the delicate lace and patterns intact. The patience and meticulousness of the seamstress impressed me. In short, what I loved about Mona Richie is that it was a GENUINE experience, they listened and gave advice but never cajoled. They were super-efficient in meeting my demands in a short time space in every step of the process. They were attentive, informative, warm and their dress selection is extremely varied. I can't thank them enough for helping me when I was in such a panic. And they also saved me a plane ticket to Florida LOL!
