Merchants is on my list of Top Five Favorite Places in Nashville, so when we decided on Music City for our wedding destination, it was the only choice for our reception. From inquiry through execution, everything was perfect. Stephanie Napier was extremely easy to work with, and checked in appropriately in the months ahead of the event to make sure all details were met. The entire Merchants staff made the evening worry-free, were professional and friendly, and interacted with our guests. The next day, the two of us returned for a "date lunch", and were greeted by staff members saying, "You two were here yesterday! You got married! Your reception was here!". We had the pleasure of having one of the servers from our reception the next day for lunch, and left with the same feeling of joy as on our wedding day.

Our guests raved about the food, the service, the location, everything, and it could not have been any better.

I cannot recommend Merchants for your rehearsal dinner. We had a guest list of 50 who used the valet service. We confirmed with the staff that they would be prepared to manage the number of cars coming in on a busy weekend downtown. They failed MISERABLY. They were so backed up that myself and the groom couldn't even get into the parking lot. We were stuck on the street and were late to our own party. In the pouring rain I had to haul the bridal party gifts from the trunk to the lobby taking several trips in the rain. The hostess and management staff offered no solutions to help expedite the situation. I was in tears about it. The event manager, Stephanie, who was overseeing our event was upstairs waiting by the bar, when she should have been downstairs helping us get in to the parking lot. At the end of the night there was an hour wait to get our cars. Elderly people attending our event were standing outside in the rain. Management had no solutions only apologies and finally offered to bring the guests water or tea while they waited.
The service of the staff and the quality of the meal was fantastic. If you want to try Merchants for dinner or lunch, I recommend them. However I cannot in good faith recommend that you spend thousands of dollars on a private event with them, as they clearly are not well managed. If a problem arises, expect apologies but no solutions. Someone from corporate called to apologize and weeks after the event she still didn’t know where the breakdown in communication started. If they don’t know why this happened then it will happen again. Don’t let it happen to you. Go spend your money elsewhere.
