My husband and I had a destination wedding in Missoula and the mayor was able to work around our schedule and meet with us the week of the wedding. His script was perfect with romance and a little comedy. He even read a reading that I really wanted in the script. I would definitely recommend!!

The mayor of Missoula MT, John Engen, is a great officiant and a great mayor. He has a great sense of humor and make the wedding ceremony process enjoyful and painless.
We had a non-denominational outdoor wedding and the park where we had our ceremony at did not allow chairs to be brought in so we had our guests standing. Therefore we asked John to have a quick meaningful ceremony, which is what we got.
We had met with him a few weeks in advance of the wedding to discuss details and then we continued communication via email for the script of the ceremony. He is on his second term and although most people are not aware that mayors have the legal power to marry couples, he also told us that all 6 couples that he has married so far, are all still together, which was a great something to hear.
The day of the wedding went great and everyone was impressed about it.
As the cherry on top for the whole experience, the mayor does not charge officiant fees. Instead he encouraged us to donate an amount of our preference to the non-profit organization of our preference in our town.
I would recommend him to other couples as well!

Mayor Engen was an excellent addition to our wedding. We live out of state, so we did a questionnaire and phone interview with the Mayor and he incorporated a great deal of the personal information we gave him and some of his own humor into the ceremony. Everyone thought that he was great and we really appreciated him taking the time for our wedding!
