When I started looking for a photographer for our wedding, my goal was to find someone who had light and airy aesthetics. I wanted to find someone who could capture what looked like a dream. I searched and searched until I finally stubbled upon Marcela through “the knot”. I cannot put into words how grateful I am to have found her. Not only did she capture photo after photo, leaving me with tears in my eyes and a full heart, but she became a friend to us.

Marcela is there for you. Everything is about you, your husband, your family and what makes YOU feel beautiful, handsome and happy. I am a bit camera shy, as I think most people are but she understands that too and does so much to help break that and make you shine through the pictures. I HIGHLY recommend doing her package with the engagement shoot. I was hesitant at first because of budgeting and trying to do the minimum - don’t. This is something you put in your budget. I swear our pictures on our wedding day came out so much more natural and real because there were no nerves, we understood what we wanted from each other as a photographer and what poses to expect/do. I think having the engagement package also really helped us to learn more about Marcela because you see how fun and creative she is on Instagram and Facebook, but you see she’s the exact same in person! She’s so funny and incredibly kind. Our engagement shoot photos were simply stunning. We were stuck trying to choose between going to magnolia gardens or downtown with the colorful buildings. We were eventually sold on downtown because….have you seen her portfolio on Instagram….I was so in love with the pictures with the colorful backdrops. I will say though, between the engagement shoot and the wedding, I am convinced she will make every backdrop and location look like a dream.

You can tell this really is her calling. Her work has left me in tears over and over again. Every time I see the first look photos I still cry months later. She WILL capture your day exactly how you imagined it and go way beyond that. I honestly was sad the day after our wedding because I felt like I was losing such a great person (we moved back up north to be with family) but I have my heart set on coming back to Charleston and getting family portraits from her. Probably a coffee or a drink with her too because that’s the kind of photographer you are going to get. A professional and a friend. Kyle and I love her so much everyone better go run and book with her asap!!!

We just recently received previews for our wedding photos and are absolutely in love with them! Marcela and her team were both incredibly professional and a joy to be around on our wedding day. Marcela showed a clear passion and love for what she does and that showed in both her work and the work of her assistants. She was responsive every step of the way whenever we had any questions that needed answered which definitely helped ease the stress of the process. Marcela went above and behind to capture every detail on my special day and leading up to it. I hired her for our engagement session, my bridal portraits and of course the big Wedding day!
