I must say, I fought my (now) husband, Chris, on getting a DJ. When you're doing a DIY wedding, and trying to cut every cost imaginable, and you think about wedding music, you first jump to an ipod/laptop playlist. Its just music anyways... right? But in the end, I obliged my husband since Dan was a childhood friend, Chris loves Dan's style in music/mixing, and finally, the price fit in our micro budget. This might be the only time you'll hear/read this, but Chris was SO right in having us go with Dan at Love City DJs.

From the get go, Dan was very involved. We met with him a month or two before the wedding. There he was able to see what Chris and I were like as a couple, and to hear what our thoughts and hopes were for our wedding. Chris and I both had some far fetched musical points that we wanted in our ceremony (like timing out getting to the chorus of Such Great Heights right after we were announced as Mr. And Mrs) which Dan NAILED!!

The thing is, Dan didn't just play music. Oh no, no, no, no!!!! First he took in everyone at the wedding; their age, their style, their actions and reactions. Then he started mixing both what he knew we liked, with what he knew our guests wanted, and what worked for that moment. Coming from an extremely conservative family, I doubted anyone would get up and dance; but Dan clearly blew away what I thought was possible. Everyone was up on the dance floor. He would take a more recent song, mix it a little ways in with something from my parents era, then go to the 90's, then a blast from the past that got my grandparents up... he literally was able to have everyone there connect with the music. That was extremely special.

With all of that said (I could actually say so much more), I HIGHLY recommend Dan at Love City DJs. He made my wedding an event to remember!!!
