Where do I even begin? Working with Brent was one of the best decisions we made for our elopement. From the very beginning, he truly listened to what I envisioned and made sure every detail was captured exactly how I imagined, and honestly, even better.

Not only did he beautifully document our day, but he also helped shape it. He guided our timeline, suggested creative inspiration shots, and made sure we knew how to stand and move for the most natural, flattering angles. Nothing ever felt forced or awkward, everything felt effortless and genuine.

Communication with Brent was incredible from start to finish. Whether we were discussing planning ideas beforehand or navigating the flow of the day itself, he was responsive, thoughtful, and fully present. Firstly, I cannot overstate how amazing Brent is and how I would recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer. My wedding day did not even remotely go according to plan. There was weather issues, a last minute change in ceremony location, and uncertainty in the wedding timeline. But the whole day still felt like it moved smoothly, in large part due to Brent. He adapted quickly and calmly to every change, suggested changes to the timeline so we could make the most out of it, and we were on time and where we needed to be the whole day. He made us feel comfortable and everyone in the wedding party plus quite a few guests went out of their way to tell me how awesome and professional he was. The day made it clear that he has seen it all and takes everything in stride. I also think he has amazing vision with our photos and I am certain we chose the perfect photographer. I cannot recommend Brent enough. He is talented at his trade and a really awesome guy. We are so grateful he was our photographer and that he made our day that much better :)

Brent was amazing! He spent the day chasing us around—hair appointments, Airbnb 40 mins up north Hayden lake, then back to southeast CdA. Being an older couple, he worked with us for less traditional posed pictures (more candids!). He was very clear on his directions he gave when taking pictures. So nice. Then, he not only checking for eye closed each time, but often sharing the shot on his camera which was really great. Such a fun and easy experience, which is what we wanted. Highly recommend him for your next big event!

Brent was wonderful to work with. We never had to ask those typical questions what do I do with my hands, what should my facial expression be, etc. he handled everything. As a bride I was stressed out about making sure we had enough time for everything and he walked me through my time line and I think for most of it we were right on schedule. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone!

Brent is not only amazing at what he does, but he is personable and cares about what he is doing. Through his lens you see the true essence of your wedding day, you can really see the emotions and the feelings of the day. He has clearly worked hard to grow in his craft. He is also extremely timely and great at communication. I could not recommend him more.

Brent Looyenga was the perfect choice for our wedding photographer! I couldn't imagine it going any better. He only charges per day, not per hour so that we didn't have to worry about how long he was there for. He also met with us ahead of time for engagement photos so it wasn't awkward at the wedding at all, and it worked! It was an amazing experience. Brent's prices are well placed too, I would say. It was all completely worth it. I 100% would recommend Looyenga Photography!

The best photographer I could have ever asked for! Made us feel like we were in a fairytale with all of the magical shots and even with out any editing the photos he would show us were breath taking. It was a huge relief and weight off of our shoulders with how he would direct us into these perfect positions encompassing the all of these beautiful colors of nature around us. He had a great sense of humor and was able to get everyone to follow his direction with ease. Very greatful and can't wait to see the rest of the photos!

We had the privilege of working with Brent for our engagement and wedding photos. I especially appreciated his thoughtful approach to making sure we were aligned on the overall style and vision for the photography! Choosing a wedding photographer was an overwhelming prospect, but after meeting with Brent, I was confident that he was the perfect choice.

That proved to be true. We got amazing photos that even ticked my “hopes and dreams” boxes — stuff we hadn’t even specifically talked about!

Why I chose Looyenga Photography to capture my wedding came down to 2 things. Photographer eye and commitment.

My wife and I are introverted homebodies who love to take our dogs out into the wilderness to play, we don't consider ourselves photogenic but we wanted to make sure to have our wedding day captured by a professional who captured the best version of ourselves.

Style: Photography is a craft and Brent's framing and natural style in photos really stood out from competition. Meaning his pictures didn't look over edited, over saturated, or washed out (white out). There was good bokeh and nothing was blown out. Subjects were well in focus and complimented by the surroundings.

Cost: Weddings bring focus to where money is being spent to a microscope level. Looyenga Photography was not the cheapest option but also not the most expensive option. Cost options were very upfront and honest and several tiered packages to work within our budget to include what we were looking for. Photo's were very important to us and the end result from Brent were amazing. The cost was well worth it.

Value: Looyenga Photography has great value. They offered two things no one else did, commitment and a promise. As it was our wedding day other photographers put either a picture limit or time limit on their services. Brent didn't guarantee how many photo's he would provide as in photography you sometimes take 100 photos to get 1 great shot. He also promised to be there for our day and capture from start to finish, which means we didn't have to worry about anything being missed or be stressed/rushed about a cut off. That made the cost a value
He also included engagement photos which which were incredible and really let us get to know each other.

Professionalism: Brent is a master at his craft and was exceptional communication. He really likes the magic hours of the day where the sun light gives a natural glow and can soften the natural light giving a great setting. He has great ideas on the spot of how he wants things captures but doesn't force you into anything without running it by you first. He also asked if there were any poses or special photos you want. He is very thorough and captured every photo we wanted.

All our wedding guests had compliments about Brent and how nice he was and thought he did an exceptional job the day of the wedding and that's without seeing any of the photos, just based off his interactions and getting people together to capture guests.

We will be having prints of our wedding photos made to hang on our walls and for two individuals who don't think their photogenic that speaks to how great Brent is and we highly recommend Looyenga Photography. A true 5 star experience with 5 star result.
