History
This foundation was founded in 1948 by Boris Blai, who studied sculpture under Auguste Rodin. For those with a little dust on their art history textbooks, Rodin is best known for his statue "The Thinker," and other pieces depicting human realism. In addition to studying under Rodin, Blai also was a founding member of the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences continues today its work to enhance the creative arts and the physical sciences.
