Locanda Verde is the Italian restaurant located in the Greenwich Hotel in New York City's trendy Tribeca neighborhood. We had our intimate wedding ceremony and reception dinner for 50 guests in their absolutely beautiful private dining room in May 2017. Liz Irwin, the Private Events Coordinator, was very collaborative and professional and helped us put together a great menu and gave us an excellent referral for an audio consultant. Pastry chef Deborah Racicot is a consummate professional who created a delicious custom gluten-free hazelnut and chocolate cake that was precisely what we were hoping for. If you book your wedding at Locanda Verde, you must use their florist, Raquel Corvino, but they did an absolutely magnificent job with our centerpieces, garlands, bouquets, and boutonnières. The team of wait staff that served us, led by Grace, our Captain, could not have been better. We have only two quibbles with the venue. First, it is not possible to taste all the menu items in advance. The event menu and the restaurant menu are not the same, so you need to be prepared to serve some things to your guests that you have not tasted yourself. But our guests raved about the food and the wine, and more than one of them told us it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. The second quibble is that the controls for the sound system in the private dining room (except for the volume control) are located in the office downstairs. If you have your ceremony and reception at this venue, as we did, you will want to hire an audio consultant to install a sound system that allows you to switch easily between separate playlists. If you plan only to have your reception there, you will probably be able to get by using the restaurant's own system. These two quibbles are dwarfed, however, by the beauty of the venue, and the quality of the food and service.
