We had our wedding at Lacuna Lofts, which meant we had the absolute pleasure of having LM Catering as our wedding caterer. We had so many friends and family members compliment the dinner and dessert table, saying that this was “actually delicious wedding food”! We had a number of dietary restrictions, and LM’s vast menu and options made it so easy to accommodate everyone’s needs while also making everything taste DELICIOUS! Everything was presented beautifully, and we particularly loved that the sides were served family-style, which we hadn’t seen at many weddings before. We made some changes to our picks numerous times, and Tania was so accommodating in making any and all changes we requested! Our dessert table and yummy pretzel late night snacks were huge hits with our guests, and being able to get everything – dinner, dessert, and snacks – from one vendor was so seamless. We would highly recommend LM to anyone looking for a tasty, fun wedding caterer!

Lesley R. and Mary K. of LM Catering & Events were critical in making our wedding the perfect day. From the very first meeting at the venue tour, we knew we were in good hands. They were flexible and took our concerns and requests seriously. Lesley and Mary worked seamlessly with our day-of planner and vendors. On the day of our wedding, the LM Staff was professional and courteous. Not to mention the food was incredible!

We had to use LM based on our venue but we’d hire them again in a heartbeat.
Everyone knows wedding food can be subpar but this food was amazing. We would order it if we went to a restaurant. Everyone raved about the roasted chicken; the hanger steak was cooked to a perfect medium/medium rare.

We got married at Lacuna Lofts over Labor Day weekend and everything was perfect! We had planned to get married in October of 2020 but COVID obviously derailed things. Mary and her team were very flexible and accommodating throughout everything. The day went off without any hitches and we couldn't recommend them more!

Everything about our experience with LM Catering was top notch! First of all, the menu is extensive and provides you with endless options that all sound delicious. For our winter wedding at Zhou B Art Center we opted for appetizers and entrees that were savory, hearty and appropriate for the winter season. It was awesome to be able to choose grilled cheese and tomato soup sliders as one of our three appetizers. The presentation was so cute, it tasted delicious, and it was a huge hit with our guests as it was unique and perfect for a chilly winter day. That’s just one example of the original and delicious options that LM Catering has to offer. We worked directly with Paulette from LM Catering and I am SO thankful for that. She was an absolute dream to work with and was definitely a calming presence during our wedding planning process. She is warm, genuine, flexible and accommodating. For example, after our tasting I had second thoughts on the entrees we chose and wanted to sample an additional option. When I reached out to Paulette she was more than willing to allow me to come in for an additional tasting. I ended up swinging by LM Catering to pick up the entree to take home to try with my finance. It ended up being one of the entrees we chose (the beef short rib - so so good) and I believe this speaks volumes about Paulette and her staff at LM Catering. They truly care about you, your event, and your happiness. The food at the wedding was perfection and we received many, many compliments. The only hiccup was that a few tables ran out of the mashed potatoes, which were one of the sides and the sides are served family style. However, with this being only a small inconvenience I can confidently say that I would choose to work with Paulette and LM Catering time and time again. This was definitely one of the best decisions we made in regards to our wedding day!

My husband and I had previously been to a wedding at Lacuna Lofts that used LM catering for their wedding and we were blown away. This is the best wedding food I have ever had. From apps to the maid dish nothing disappointed. This was our first experience with LM catering and was a large factor in choosing Lacuna as our wedding venue a few years later.

When choosing your wedding menu about 6 months from your date you will have a tasting. Depending on the package you have chosen you are able to choose several options from each category to taste test prior to making your final decisions. This tasting exceeded my expectations. We chose our tasting options and upon arrival at the test kitchen we were greated with a glass of wine and a full tasting experiance.

The tasting began in a smaller "bar" like room where we had a glass of wine and the appetizers we had chosen. We were given tasting booklets for notes as to not confuse any of the dishes. Once we had completed the first part of the course "cocktail hour" we were then ushered into a seperate room for entrees "the reception". Everything we tasted was great, and the things that we were less excited about were taken into consideration. For example, we like one sauce over another and they simply switched it out, no questions asked. The flexibility was refreshing and really made it start to feel like this was "our day". At the end of the meal we were torn but were told we didnt need to make any decisions until closer to the date. We then went home and mulled over our options before making a final decision.

For the wedding we chose steak and chicken for our meals along with 3 appetizers (one veggie, 1 beef, 1 pork), and homemade cookies for desert. What really sets this company apart, and is the reason that I am giving them such high praise is because of the way the protein is cooked. LM cooks all of their protein via sous vid, making each and every peice cooked to perfection. My husband and I both choose the steak for dinner and it is one of the most tender steaks I have ever had. If you caterer is not using sous vide it is unlinkely that you will get consistant temps throughout each and every peice of meat. for those that have never heard of sous vide please take a moment to google it as it really made the difference in having an amazing wedding.

As for the catering team in general. They were helpful, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our day special. Every request was taken and exceeded our expectations. To save on time my husband and I had our salads on the roof while everyone was entering the reception and finding their seats. It was amuch needed moment just the 2 of us. Later into the night we were running out of alcohol.. I know, scary. Rather than waiting until everything was gone, my husband was quietly approached with the situation, to which upon approval they ran out and purchased more on our behalf. It was a simple gesture that was so helpful. Lastly, unknowingly we did not have coffee and tea included in our package. Rather than tell those asking no, somone ran to the local coffee shop for coffee.... I mean come on. LITERALLY did a coffee run for my grandma. Talk about accommodating.

All in all, Ricardo and his team truly made this our "best day ever"

My wife and I had our wedding catered through LM Catering on September 7th, 2019 at City View Loft and we are incredibly happy about the decision to use them!!

This was no ordinary wedding food, and we heard nothing but great things on the day of the wedding! It's hard to create truly amazing food, and it's a Herculean task to create it for 150 people, but LM can and did!!

My wife and I ordered the NY Strip Steak, Pan Seared Chicken Breast, and Roasted Cauliflower Steak for our wedding guests, and I have yet to hear anything but rave reviews from our guests! We had guests actually come up to us and tell us they would order this food if it was available at a restaurant, that's how good they said it was! I can't remember the last time I thought that about food at a wedding, but after dealing with LM Catering, I'm not surprised!!

From the tasting, to the big day, these caterers do NOT disappoint! If you have the option to use them, or are looking at their venue space, City View Loft in Chicago, PLEASE...pick them!!

Everything was absolutely delicious! Even at our tasting it was hard to narrow it down! Don't skip the late tacos! Such a treat for all!

While we didn't actually get the option to choose catering, as our venue (City View Loft) utilizes LM Catering, we couldn't be happy with our food options and how everything turned out day off. Their menu options were some of the most unique options we have seen and it was such a blast choosing things during our tasting. While there were the standard tomato soup and grilled cheese shooters for passed appetizers, we also had options we had never had at a wedding, like octopus and polenta cakes and cherry smoked beef. The main course options were also amazing and so hard to pick. It's easy to go with a good steak and salmon option but we also included duck on our menu and had more unique options to include like empanadas or mahi mahi. We were anticipating how everything would turn out day of, because we know how much more difficult it is to cook for 120 people than it is for four. Considering how many compliments we received (particularly on that duck!), I would say that they did a phenomenal job day of as well. It was truly one of the most unique and delicious wedding menus we've come across and have our fingers crossed that more weddings we attend in the future utilize LM Catering. In addition to the food, all of the necessary linens, cutlery, staff service, etc. were included, which was one less thing to worry about.

This is a review of LM Catering at Lacuna Lofts since they were our caterers and managed the venue for us. They were accommodating and easy to work with, we can’t recommend them enough.

First, the people are amazing. You rely on your venue and caterer to do a lot, our contact Lorraine, was amazing. She answered every crazy question and accommodated all of our requests and countless emails. We planned our wedding from halfway across the country with a pretty inflexible schedule and they always found time to meet with us whenever we were in town (including doing our tasting 2 days before Christmas when it was the only day we were free!) I really can’t say enough about how great all of LM, but Lorraine especially, was to work with. Wedding planning can be stressful so it’s nice to have a vendor you know you can rely on and who you look forward to seeing.

Second, the food from LM was great. We were worried about what we were going to get (and how much we were going to pay!) given that you’re locked into using LM when you book at Lacuna. Everything was within budget, beautiful, and delicious! We had some guests with dietary restrictions and they handled it without any problems. Their bartenders were excellent (we did the BYO option) and the plates and linens they provided were beautiful and unique. Also, they never try to up-sell you, though there are always fancier options if you want it. We were nervous about hidden costs, but LM never said no to any of our requests and almost everything we asked for was included free of charge. We get the sense that this sort of service is pretty rare in the wedding industry.

Overall, we can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a beautiful, unique space, and LM (especially Lorraine!) is a dream to work with who feel personally invested in your day and feel like friends at your wedding. Go for it!
