Gorgeous!!!

I loved my wedding so much!!! It was gorgeous and a perfect day to me!
Though, nothing is truly perfect, Lela made sure that she did what she could to ensure that the drama stayed away from me on my day. We only had so much to work with, but it exceeded our expectations!! Most everyone said they had a fabulous time. We will definitely book again for our ten year anniversary and not spare a dime to ensure it is less stressful!! It is truly worth it with such a beautiful venue, lovely host and an all in one package option that accommodates most preferences!! Pay for whole day!
Pay for all the extra items! Check and double check! Bring reference pictures!
Get every vendors services, otherwise who is left to do this JOB? Jobs take time and multiple people. DlY options and all inclusive options available. All inclusive is always better! Thank you soooo much!!

Beautiful Wedding

My daughter was recently married at Lela's Place. We would recommend this venue and Lela's services. Besides providing the venue, Lela managed the wedding ceremony and produced all of the flowers and decorations. She also had a list of very good vendors (DJ's, Caterers, etc.) that were familiar with her venue, which made everything easier. We had a good experience and a beautiful wedding.

My wedding day

Let me start by saying I love the venue, the. I wanted to have a barn style wedding and I also wanted to support a black owned business as I’m the owner of a black owned, women owned business myself.
My first impression of Lela was good I was excited about my wedding and everything. The closer it got to my actual wedding day I started noticing, her comments and questions asked were a bit judgmental. I brushed it off because I’m super chill. To start we booked the venue for 5.5 hours, so we had it from 4:30pm until 10:00pm. Most venues that I know of will let you have a set up time prior to your event. Well this is not the case at Lela’s place, we were told we couldn’t come to the venue until 4:30. So mind you originally my wedding was going to start at 5:00 so I’m trying to see where the set up time is. Which means she was giving us 30 minutes to set up for 120 people, that’s impossible. So I asked could my set up team come at 3:00 to just set up the tables she said no because our time starts at 4:30 and that’s when we can come in.
Ok so I pushed my wedding to 6:00 to give us time to set up, which is being rushed but ok cool. Some guests get there early mostly aunts and older family members, Lela makes the comment oh some guests came early you have more help, my guest aren’t here to help and they’re older so no. Then the DJ gets there, and Lela tells our DJ not to play rachett music because the white people in the area will call the police and tells him country music is a good choice, first of who says something like that to someone but again ok. Then her husband who is security hands the the DJ a card that he expects him to read to our guest about not smoking weed. Who the hell does that , of course he didn’t read it because there was no need to. Ok moving on. A lot of my bridesmaids got there around 4:00/4:30 I was running a little behind, Lela would not let my bridesmaids up because I wasn’t there yet which is crazy because they needed to get dressed. It took for me to get on the phone with her for her to let them up. After this Lela goes to my 74 year old mother and says where ya girl at, what type of bride is late. I arrived at 5:07. Calling me ya girl to my mom instead of your daughter or the bride or just simply calling me was rude.
Next insult Lela goes to a few of my bridesmaids and tells them to eat because they are skinny and she doesn’t want to clean up throw up because she cleaned some up the night before and that it was gross. That has nothing to do with us and on top of that why would we drink to that point at a wedding and then she asked one of my bridesmaids was she old enough to drink mind you she’s 34 years old she didn’t even respond to the insult. Next insult the lights were off under the gazebo , Lela makes the comment that some retarded person unplugged the lights to charge there phone oh, it’s my employee that’s retarded, when she say the offense she says oh I don’t mean anything by it I just love the word retarded. Moving on to the next insult Lela accused some of our guest of stealing plastic silverware that I purchased and brought to the venue and proceeded to call them overflow and tell them they didn’t RSVP. Just so happens that everyone at that table RSVP’d they just ended up at a table that was for extra guest . So due to the insult 4 of our guest left our wedding. I am deeply disappointed and saddened by this because she’s a black woman who had a group of beautiful educated hard working people at her event center and she chose to be rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate of the guests with her commentary. Thank god that everyone loved my husband and I enough to just let it go and try to enjoy the rest of the evening as the wedding did turn out to be very nice. Was Lela helpful during the wedding yes did she piss off everyone no, she just honestly could have handled things very differently most of our guest were her age or older and she treat them very badly. The venue is a nice place I just wished she kept her manners in check with everyone who was in attendance. The reason for my one star is simply that at the end of the day the take away from our wedding was her and her lack of manners towards our family and friends and that hurt my heart so much. The wedding was beautiful wish there was more set up time prior to the actual start time, so that things wouldn’t have been so rushed.
