The search for a photographer is overwhelming. We didn't know the lingo so didn't know how to describe the types of photos we wanted. We obviously needed the typical posed family groupings, but we also wanted lots of candids that captured all the emotions of the day and where you could hear the laughter or see the movement of the dancing. We didn’t want crazy Instagram-esque filters or extreme styles like the airy bright and washed out clouds look or dark and moody look. We really wanted something in between with rich colors and epic sunset sky shots.

Finally, we came across Laura’s portfolio, and we immediately loved her photography style, which she described as "documentary." Every photo we scrolled through was a winner and felt like she read our minds. We set up a meeting with Laura and she was just so down to earth yet completely in control. Within a few minutes, she had our entire wedding day's schedule planned out for us to the minute and in our inbox. We were absolutely floored by her impeccable organization and immediately knew we had to book her.

Laura's rate included an engagement shoot, which she strongly recommended. We've been engaged for a few years so didn't plan on doing one, but are so glad we did. Not only were the photos absolutely stunning, but it was a great practice run before the big day without the stress. It also gave Laura a chance to get to know us and our story, which she actually remembered and used on our wedding day to make us smile and laugh. Laura provides a list of suggested locations, from which we chose Waterfront Park in St Michaels. She knew every inch of that place and within an hour we had a variety of photos on the water, in the field, on the street, and some insane lighting on the covered bridge.

On the wedding day, Laura's second shooter was Rachel, every bit as talented. Together they took care of every single family grouping in record time and truly documented the entire day from start to finish. Our friends and family looking at pictures honestly don't remember seeing them take half the shots. They somehow even captured a family moment that barely anyone else saw but was incredibly important to us.

Within 24 hours, Laura had a "preview" post on her blog with a bunch of winners. Honestly those would've been perfect from any other photographer, but then we got the full package a few weeks later and were blown away. She delivers them on a website where you can share or order prints, as well as a custom USB drive for safe keeping.

We have a digital frame cycling through our favorites, and every single day we can't help but smile at them.
