We truly cannot recommend Laura enough!! From the very beginning, she was professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect! Laura photographed our engagement photos and wedding and to say we are so happy is an understatement. Laura does AMAZING work! We are absolutely obsessed with our photos. She perfectly captured every emotion, moment, and detail of our special day in a way that feels authentic and us -- I feel like I can relive this day over and over just by looking at the photos. Not only is Laura incredibly talented, but she made us feel comfortable and relaxed the entire time. For our wedding, Laura brought her second shooter Shayla who is also extremely talented, down to earth, fit right in with the guys, and captured just as much emotion. Book Laura as your wedding photographer, you will not be disappointed! We will treasure these memories forever and cannot recommend them highly enough! Thank you Laura and Shayla!!! -

From our engagement shoot last November to our wedding day this October, Laura was absolutely wonderful to work with. She is very organized, responsive, and easy to communicate with. She is exceptional at capturing every moment, and is great at giving prompts to create the perfect photos. Beautiful photos aside, she is also a wonderful person to be around. She is friendly and easy to talk to, and made the photoshoots a lot of fun!! Her second shooter Shayla was wonderful as well, and the two of them worked super efficiently together. Laura delivered all the photos super quickly, and had captured everything that we had hoped we'd see. The photos turned out beautiful, and we are so happy to have them to look back on our wedding day. We can't recommend Laura enough! -

Laura is one of those rare people who instantly puts you at ease, which makes being in front of the camera so much easier, especially if it does not come naturally. She brought such energy, creativity, and calm to our wedding day.
Several guests came up to me and said, “She is the absolute best!”; “She never stopped taking pictures.”; “When I get married, I want to fly her in to do mine.” That says everything.
I am endlessly grateful to Laura for the way she captured the most important day of our life. All of our favorite people were together in one room, and she truly nailed it, capturing the essence of Ben and me along with the people we love most.
I care deeply about preserving moments through photography, and since this time I could not be behind the lens myself, I could not have asked for anyone better. Whatever the occasion, think of Laura. Every time my husband and I revisit our wedding photos, it's like reliving those magical moments all over again. Each image brings back such fond memories of our special day, and being able to share those moments with our loved ones has been incredibly rewarding, all thanks to Laura's incredible talent.
Right from our very first meeting, Laura's professionalism, expertise, and calming presence put us at ease. She was super responsive to any questions I had before the wedding, and her timeline guidance and advice on hair and makeup rotations were invaluable. Highly Recommend!
We’re so glad we hired Laura for our big day! She is extremely professional, communicative, and easy to work with. We thought she did an amazing job capturing our goofy personalities and she delivered our photos so quickly! She sent a preview of our photos within a week and the full set of photos within 3 weeks. Her pricing was more reasonable than some of the other photographers in the area, too. The photos turned out even more beautiful than we could have imagined. You are in great hands with Laura! -

Laura was the photographer for our wedding that took place in June 2023 at Black Walnut Point Inn, and we couldn’t be more grateful that we chose her! She is absolutely amazing!! From the moment we met her at our engagement shoot, we felt completely comfortable around her, and as a couple who had never done a photo shoot before, she made it feel easy. She brings a calm energy that is very soothing, but she also knows how to joke around and bring laughs. She is exactly who we needed! Her photographic skills are out of this world, and she is insanely quick in getting photos back to you. She and her second shooter, Shayla, worked insanely efficiently during group photos, and they were both so lovely to be around. We used Andover Media for videography, and Justinian and Laura worked extremely well together and added a very fun dynamic to the day. We would recommend Laura to anyone and everyone, and we only wish we could relive the day with her! -

We attended a wedding in Maryland and were blown away with how incredible of a job Laura did! We hired her to come to Philadelphia for our wedding and it was totally worth it! Laura stepped into our venue for the first time on our wedding day, and you would never have known, she did an INCREDIBLE job! In less than a week we had a bunch of preview photos and they were amazing! We absolutely reccomend her and love that she was willing to travel to photograph our wedding! Thanks Laura -

Man, where does the time go? Laura was our photographer both for our engagement session in Spring 2019 and our wedding December 14, 2019. Throughout our experience working with her was nothing but pure joy. She is organized, prompt, skilled, and a great communicator, which is exactly what you need on one of the most important days of your life! I was referred to her by another photographer, but I am so thankful I went with her.
For our engagement shoot, we chose a local brewery that at the time had never had anyone ask to take professional photos there. Laura arrived early to scope out the location, work with the proprietor, and make sure she had the best vision for our session. She made us both comfortable and handled the crowds well. The photos were so unique and I loved how they turned out. She captured our aesthetic, while still thinking outside of the box of typical engagement photos. We got the photos back almost immediately, which was fantastic for save the dates and wedding planning purposes.
For our wedding she was once again wonderful. We spoke a few times to make sure that the timing and photo schedule was set. I felt comfortable knowing we had a plan and that her and her assistant would be there pushing us along and getting everything that we wanted. She scoped out the location and was prepared for weather changes. We got lucky and the rain subsided in the afternoon, leading to beautiful outside photos, even with the cold! Both her and her assistant captured so many precious moments, from the getting ready, first look, family shots, ceremony, and fantastic shots during the Hora! She was also flexible to a few changes on the spot, which was important. She timely turned the photos around and made sure they were available both by flash drive and in an online portal.
A few important things that stuck out to me about how Laura conducts her business that I believe are imperative for people to know and choose her. First, she is kind and works well with others, such as my makeup artist, other vendors, and more and makes sure to credit them in her posts of the event. Second, I really appreciate her social media etiquette. She makes sure to tag her clients if they wish on her Instagram and Facebook, which to me shows that she cares about her clients and what she shoots. Finally, I love the blog posts of her sessions. These were incredibly helpful to me to get an idea of how she shoots wedding and other big life events, and the blog from our wedding is something I cherish dearly and go back to often.
In no way does my delay on this review reflect Laura Focus Photography at all! These past few years have been insane, but I want to make sure it is known how fantastic she is! Hoping to work with her again in the future, maybe for a family session in a few years

Laura is absolutely amazing! My husband and I decided on a very small destination wedding in Exuma, Bahamas. After a google search, I came across Laura's page and fell in love with her work. When I reached out to Laura and found out that she was going to be in the area at the same time, I was thrilled! She was extremely helpful and professional from our very first conversation. I am so thankful to have stumbled across her page - Laura did an amazing job and on the day, I didn't even notice her taking half the pictures of special moments she was able to capture. I've received so many compliments on the quality of the photos and have probably looked at them 150 times since getting them two weeks ago. The blog posts Laura does are a very special touch that you can share with friends and family fairly soon after the wedding. We also received our photos via digital link very quickly after our big day (but this is likely due to winter months being less busy than the summer for weddings). Thank you Laura for capturing these wonderful moments that we will be able to share with friends and family for years to come! -

Coolest Photographer
My husband and I knew that our photographer was our main priority. We wanted pictures that captured our personalities and the day in a way we would never forget. We had heard from so many of our friends that the day goes by so fast and it’s hard to remember it all without amazing photos and video. When we saw Laura’s portfolio we knew we found our photographer! Her photos are beautiful, natural and capture people’s emotions amazingly. On top of her amazing body of work, we totally vibed with Laura’s personality. She is the absolute best! She is a calming yet commanding presence that you need on your day! And with our crazy families, we needed someone who could assist in keeping folks in line haha. She was able to make me and my guests feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera while also ensuring she got almost every requested picture on our shot list. Within days of our big day she had drafted a beautiful blog post with a handful of pictures. The sneak peek images alone are absolutely breathtaking and truly capture the day perfectly! I can’t stop looking at them and cannot wait to see the full package of pictures. Thank you Laura! We will definitely work with you again.

From the first second we connected with Laura, through the unexpected 2 years of planning due to COVID, to the wedding day and everything since - she has been so incredible to work with!! We are SO glad we found Laura and hired her for photography for our wedding day and engagement photo session. Laura made all of our hope's and dreams for our photos of our wedding day and engagement come true and far exceeded them! Throughout the postponement process due to COVID she was so supportive and flexible which we will always be so grateful for. She is the best photographer and the absolute sweetest person. She is detail-oriented, thorough, responsive, efficient, and so much more! From the first day we talked on the phone at our initial consult, I could tell she was already caring about my husband and I and the vision we had for our engagement shoot and wedding day. Laura is amazing!
Laura is amazing! We just got our photos back and I literally can't stop looking at them. Starting from the first phone call I knew Laura really cared about her clients and took the time to get to know us. Leading up to the wedding she had us fill out a survey to help with the day of, and it helped so much that we were actually ahead of schedule with all of the photos that we actually had time to sit! Throughout the night Laura grabbed so many great photos and didn't miss anything! Looking through the photos makes me remember every single detail of the night. I can't recommend her enough! -

Laura is the most amazing photographer! Hire her! We were SO happy she was able to capture our special day. Laura was the best wedding Photographer we could've asked for on our special day. She was very responsive, flexible, prompt, easy to work with, and creative. We are so impressed with how the photos turned out. She documented our day in a way that it told a story. Our family and friends who were not able to make it could look at the photos and feel like they were there. She did an amazing job with camera angles and creative framing. Our photos truly looked like they came out of a bridal magazine! Not to mention Laura saved us by thinking ahead and packing bug spray when we didn't! After the big day we saw teaser photos on her blog which is well written and beautiful. We got our final photos back very quickly via a password protected online album and we later got the most beautiful looking usb in the mail which included high resolution images and web resolution images. I highly recommend Laura for anyone looking for a photographer to document important life events! You will not be disappointed! -

Amazing photographer!
Laura is an amazingly talented photographer! We had her do both our engagement and wedding photos and they both turned out better than we could have ever expected! Laura always seems to find a way to capture such unique pictures that stand out from the normal. She helped us feel more comfortable around the camera and knew our wedding venue very well and knew where to take all of the best pictures. She is very responsive and was also so flexible when we had to postpone our wedding to a later date. We are so incredibly grateful to Laura for documenting our wedding day. She is incredibly talented and her ability to capture special moments during the day is amazing. From our first meeting with her, we knew she was the right photographer for us. We had her do our engagement photos shortly after our first meeting. Neither one of us are fans of really being in front of a camera, but Laura was so easy to work with and made us feel so comfortable. The images turned out great and we were so excited for her to do our wedding.
Laura far exceeded our expectations again on our wedding day. She and her assistant were both fantastic. Every - single - image we LOVE. Going through the photos allowed us to completely relive our day which is what we wanted in our photographs. The weather was rainy and windy, but that didn't impact our photos at all. Laura was ready with umbrellas for some adorable photos in the rain. She is incredibly organized and captured everything we asked for plus so much more.
One of the most amazing things about Laura is how quick she is when it comes to getting your images back to you. Within a few days, she had a blog post with a ton of pictures. Two weeks after the wedding, we received our USB in the mail with over 970 images. Laura is also very easy to communicate with and is super quick to reply to any questions.

Laura is AMAZING and captured our wedding perfectly! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! Laura is the whole package. She is experienced, professional, quick, and talented. Her services are so high quality at such a great price. Photography was the biggest splurge for our wedding and it was worth every single penny!
Laura and her second shooter, Theresa, worked so incredibly hard during the wedding ceremony and reception to capture all of our special moments and the moments we didn't even know happened among our friends and family! Her work provided us with a complete view of our wedding so we say what happened the entire day from start to finish! During the ceremony and reception, they were constantly looking and photographing moments between us and our guests as well as among our guests. We were in a park and a pavilion for the ceremony and reception and Laura and Theresa would crouch on the ground and climb over the pavilion walls just to get the perfect photo. They are so dedicated to capturing all those special moments. They see an opportunity for photo and take it, but they ensured they were documenting the day without interfering with the event, i.e. no pulling us away from family and friends during the day, no awkward posed photos. Laura's style of photography is documentary and that's what makes her photos so special. She captures the joy in your eyes as it happens. Looking back at the photos, you can remember the feeling you had in that moment she captured and relive it. Her photos are just magical!
Laura got us our photos so quickly, it was mind blowing! We received a single photo preview just a couple days after the wedding, our blog post was done less than a week after the wedding, and we received all our of photos in less than 2 weeks after the wedding. It was really great and satisfying to have a continuous flow of photos so soon after the event!
I only have good things to say about Laura, so save your self some time researching wedding photographers and hire Laura today! A friend that attended our wedding is getting married next year and has already booked Laura for her wedding! -

When looking for a wedding photographer, go no further than Laura! She was incredible to work with. From the first time we met her, we knew she would be a calming presence on our big day but very efficient, and she did not disappoint! She kept everyone in line and guided us through each picture. Her second shooter, Jessica, was so much fun and the two of them kept us smiling all day. Laura walked us to different spots that she had in her head and told us exactly what to do, which was perfect. While on our honeymoon (only a few day after the wedding!), Laura sent us a link to her blog post about our wedding, which had about 175 pictures that completely captured every emotion of the day. We couldn’t believe how quickly she was able to turn around these pictures and we are so looking forward to seeing the rest of them! Laura is incredibly professional, efficient, organized and fun and we would recommend her to everyone! -

beautiful photos, wonderful experience!
Hiring Laura was one of the best decisions we made. I searched multiple photographers in the area- what drew me to Laura was her ability to capture the true emotions of the day in addition to taking beautiful posed photos. Compared to many others, Laura does not over-edit her photos to the point where they look over-exposed, and essentially, the same as everyone else's wedding photos. Instead, Laura was able to capture the uniqueness in our wedding and in us as a couple. She has an incredible vision and is so creative in her shots. Not to mention, she is quick and responsive! Most importantly, Laura has been incredibly kind throughout the whole process, and was instrumental in creating our timeline and finalizing details that I hadn't thought of. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone! -

Laura is truly the best!
There are not enough words to describe how amazing Laura is and I cannot imagine anyone else capturing our day more perfect than she did! Laura is kind, calm, organized, beyond artistic and spent so much time getting to know my husband and I prior to our wedding day. I gave Laura a call a few times before our wedding to bounce ideas off of her and she was always wiling to listen, provide insights and share her expertise. And the day of, she was truly amazing! Like a secret angel that you do not know is even there.
For being such an organized bride, we threw a lot of curve balls at Laura the day of....like walking to the church, squinty and hot bridal party, sleepy nephews and a sunset that came much faster than expected. We called a lot of audibles, and Laura just rolled with every one. She never made us feel it was out of order or we were messing up the flow, but instead managed to stay so calm with a smile on her face, reassuring us the entire time. and capturing every moment. She made us feel so at ease throughout the day and truly captured the real us - laughing, happy and in the moment. Not to mention we had our blog pictures within a few days and they were more than we could have ever dreamed of. Laura's ability to capture creative and artsy moments, that still feel classic and natural is beyond amazing. Every photo belongs in a bridal magazine and I will never know how we will be able to choose the ones we frame, because EVERY single photo is that amazing. Tears to my eyes amazing. We will never be able to thank her enough for capturing our special day the way she did - every detail, every picture was pure magic. We worked with Laura from Laura’s Focus Photography for our wedding after she was recommended to us and we are SO glad that we did! Laura was a joy to work with throughout the entire planning process. She even sent us recommendations for things to do on our honeymoon in Croatia as she had recently been there. She took the time to make sure that she knew all of the important details and captured them perfectly on the day of the wedding. Her organization and attention to detail help the whole day to run smoothly and stress-free. She is so personable and easy to talk to, which really helped my husband and me to appear more natural in the wedding photos (we aren’t naturally very photogenic!). We absolutely LOVE all of our wedding pictures, which came out as the perfect mix of artsy and traditional photos. Julianna Sent on 08/03/2018Hiring Laura was the best decision we made when planning our wedding. She is a professional, sweet, organized and extremely talented photographer. Laura was great from the start, getting to know us and communicating next steps. We did an engagement session with our pup and she blew us away with images that truly captured our love. Come the day of our wedding, Laura’s calm, but focused attitude made the getting ready photos stress free. We did not do a first look and had many formal family photos so we did not make it easy on her! Especially since lots of family members disappeared after the ceremony, Laura remained calm and keep us rolling through to make sure we could accomplish everything. It also started to rain, Laura made it work! Laura took us out at sunset around the property, to secret spots she knew, and we got the most stunning photos. She captured so many awesome moments and I am so grateful we can look back at them forever. Our grandfather said he flipped through the photos and felt like he was reliving every moment of the day and I fully agree. The love, the smiles, the details, all captured beautifully. Laura even posted our blog story just a few days after the wedding providing us a sneak peek while we sat in Aruba on our honeymoon, an amazing surprise! When we received all of our photos back in only 3 weeks, I could not stop going through them and every time I find another photo to claim as my favorite. I would highly recommend Laura to anyone. Tina Sent on 07/09/2018So when looking for a venue in Baltimore, we considered the zoo (yes, you can get married at the zoo!). The sweet woman there who showed us around gave me a wonderful piece of advice. She said, "In 10 or 20 years, no one will remember what your cake tasted like or the little details of your decor. But your pictures, those last beyond a lifetime - put some money into that!" And she was right. I never actually made a comparison, my guess is Laura is not the cheapest in the area, but from that statement above, you don't want the cheapest, you want the best. I never shopped around, I had another vendor I hired first (my DJ) whom I trust and asked for his recommendation. We were not disappointed. I've received so many compliments on our photos! We were able to arrange an in-person meeting and look through her portfolio as well as give her some background information about us. She used everything we talked about in that first meeting to help us through our engagement photos and wedding day photos. She would reference different things we had talked about that instantly brought a smile to our faces (or a laugh). We could tell that she really loved what she does and it showed in her presentation and the end product. We loved working with Laura (and her second shooter) and will be calling her again for our next big occasion! -

Monica Sent on 01/31/2018I can't say enough about working with Laura for our engagement pictures and our wedding. My now husband is not a fan of spending time taking photos so she was extra accommodating working quick and getting the shots perfect with a less than willing participant! She is immediately friendly and puts you at ease and her pictures are amazing. My husband even begrudgingly came around saying taking them wasn't so bad after all ;). I'm not entirely sure who she used as her second shooter for the wedding day (Laura was with my party and the second shooter with the guys so I didn't have much time to interact) - but I will say all the guys loved her and she took great pictures too! Laura has a really great eye for detail and I love the way her photos captured reactions and emotions so well. I could upload the whole album if it would let me! I am 100% happy with our choice to go with Laura!

Caroline Sent on 07/19/2017I am so happy that Laura was my wedding photographer! Laura was the first vendor I hired after picking my wedding venue. Photography was extremely important to me, and I am so happy with my choice! Laura could not have been better! She is extremely talented and professional. Leading up to the wedding she was always quick to answer any question I had or to provide recommendations for other vendors. She and her assistant Oliva captured the events of the day beautifully and I know that we will enjoy these photos forever! Laura was very organized and helped to keep us on track throughout the day. She was able to do so while still being relaxed. She knew exactly where the best shots would be! Also her turnaround time is impressive. I doubt there is another wedding photographer who is faster! My husband and I enjoyed her blog post the week after the wedding while we were on our honeymoon. We received an adorable package with a thumb drive of all of the images and prints shortly after. I could not have asked for a better photographer. Thank you Laura! -

Carolyn Sent on 07/01/2014Photography was the second vendor that I booked because it was so important to me to have wonderful photographs to remember our event! After doing lots of research and talking to several Virginia photographers, we ended up choosing Laura’s Focus. Laura is such an amazing photographer and she immediately puts you at ease. We weren’t able to meet with Laura in person before our engagement photo shoot because we live in New York, so we had to do a phone interview. Just talking to her, you can tell that she is passionate about what she does and it really shows in her photographs! I received a DVD with all of our photos (close to 1000!) just a few weeks after the wedding and they were amazing! I had a lot of trouble picking just a few to print and display in our house, which is unheard of since I almost always hate photographs of myself!! She captured all the little details of our day and all of the emotions of our family and friends, which are priceless. During the ceremony I never even noticed her or her assistant, and my mother in law said she didn’t realize the photographers were even there! Laura was so wonderful to work with, easy to get in contact with, and her photographs are truly exceptional. I highly recommend her. -

We fell in love with her style and the emotion she is able to both capture and create through her photos. She beautifully captured so many of the important moments throughout the day. I found myself reassuring my bridal party and guests that, "Laura is amazing, don't worry, I'm sure she caught that on camera". To our delight, I was right. Laura is professional, punctual, and seems to float around without anyone even realizing she is there. She was never disruptive and helped keep everyone calm, even through the literal storm that rolled in. We plan to use Laura for the other important moments in our lives. As I said to my husband, "The feeling I got when I saw our proofs is worth every penny." Laura comes highly recommended in our book! -

Her communication was excellent and I felt very comfortable that she would capture everything I asked based on the packet she requested we fill out the week of the wedding. While we were taking group pictures she moved very quickly and knew everyone who needed to be involved. We just got our pictures and I am blown away by the quality of photography and how they turned out. She stayed with us for 14 hours as we requested, which is a very long day, but she was full of energy! Thank you Laura for our amazing wedding pictures! I can't stop looking at them!
