We chose a photographer based off reviews. She subsequently had a big life event and couldn't make it, and Kayla met with us (organized through our actual hire).
Kayla was great when we first met her, but more importantly was invaluable the day of.
We had organized a very unique and constrained "investment" due to budgets, limiting our time and only one shooter. Kayla showed up with a second shooter--I'm still unsure whether this was a pro bono surprise or something my MOH coordinated--on time, and they worked tirelessly.
I had issues with the transportation to the photo site, then we had issues with family's ability to arrive... we had a huge (1+ hour) delay in our food at the venue which delayed all our photography plans. Despite having paid a day of coordinator, Kayla/Robin ended up being the primary organizers of the event and helped smooth everything over. They kept me calmer and helped immensely.
My bridal party ended up buying extra time so that Kayla/Robin could stay late; this was the only reason we got photos of our first dance, any group dancing. Regardless of that huge gift from them, Kayla made the most of some harder situations and I'm sure our photos will look amazing. I don't know what would've happened if they hadn't done all they did!
