I first met Katie when she did the photography for my sister-in-law's wedding. She was SO fun! She makes the whole process of getting photos taken (one of my least favorite things in the world...) exciting and easy. I thought we were compatible and asked her to do our engagement pictures/wedding pictures. Best decision ever!
Our engagement pictures were taken in Fall 2011 so that we could have fall scenery. Katie was great to work with, catching some truly amazing pictures! She is adorable with her little exclamations of glee when she gets a great shot and it really livens up the whole process. I'm so in love with those pictures and my husband and I were able to use them as our Christmas cards last year!
On our wedding day, the timing we'd originally thought would work didn't happen exactly that way and Katie was a great sport going with the flow, no complaint, no indication of annoyance which I appreciated. It was raining and our pictures were mostly outside and Katie was encouraging and (most importantly) quick! We got the important shots in a timely manner so that we could dodge the major downpours. Haha.
I think the measure of a true photographer is their ability to be transparent during the important moments. Katie succeeds at this. During our ceremony, I don't remember her being there at all. She remained relatively "invisible" getting the important shots, yet blending into the background, not being overly-intrusive. It was great that she was able to get everything we'd requested without ruining the sanctity of our ceremony. I've seen too often as a guest how an over-zealous, over-involved photographer can ruin "the moment" and we were lucky to have a photographer who was there to photograph the wedding as it was happening, not direct our movements as to get a desired shot.
We will be using Katie for all our photography needs for years to come!
