Where do I even begin with Kari? 🥹🤍

When we were planning our wedding, I told my husband that if there was one thing we were going to splurge on, it would be our photographer. Because long after the flowers had wilted, our loved ones had flown home, and the mud on our hiking boots had dried, what we would have left were the photographs. Little pieces of a day we could hold onto forever. Memories to share with our children, our families, and someday, our grandchildren.

And goodness, did Kari give us something beautiful to hold onto.

We had a small, intimate ceremony on a mountaintop in Kodiak, Alaska, followed by a backyard reception surrounded by the people we love most. And this wonderful woman not only flew to our little island to be part of it, she hiked an entire mountain with us! Wedding photography is apparently an extreme sport, and Kari didn't hesitate for a second.

From the very beginning, she was an absolute dream. So incredibly kind, warm, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. She made us feel comfortable being ourselves, offered just the right amount of direction when we needed it, and somehow made being in front of a camera feel completely natural. She was wonderful about communicating throughout the entire process, and it genuinely felt like having a friend along for one of the most special days of our lives.

But what I love most is that Kari didn't just photograph our wedding. She captured us. The love, the laughter, the little in-between moments, the wild beauty of the place we call home, and all the magic of a day that went by far too quickly.

There is something so special about knowing that years from now, when the details have grown a little fuzzy and time has carried us into new chapters of our lives, we'll be able to look at these photographs and find ourselves right back on that mountain.

I don't think I could ever adequately express how grateful I am to Kari for giving us that gift.
