JTate Design is a wedding photography business based out of Ravenna, Ohio.
First off, and maybe most importantly, I love photography! I am very grateful to have been able to shoot over 300 weddings since 2009 along with countless other shoots. I go into each wedding with the goal of creating a collection of memories based around who YOU are and the style that fits YOU best. Whether it is a classy & antique style wedding, a more creative & fun wedding, or anything in between, I try to fit my photos to your one of a kind celebration.
I would consider myself a candid style photographer, but I can also take charge and guide you as much as you need (if you need help posing for example). You will often find me moving about grabbing different moments and angles as the day flies by.
But it's about the details too! I like to capture the details that you have put so much time into making your day just right. Maybe you won’t hang these photos on your wall, but I hope you'll be able to look back at these photos as time goes on, and re-live your awesome day. The details on the wedding dress. Your guests. The cake. The venue. And so much more. Each one is a part of what makes the day special, and I want to help make your wedding more than you ever imagined it would be.
I have been blessed in my life and I am so glad to be a photographer. I treat every wedding with great care, and I hope that the photos I capture of your day can be used not only to hang on your wall, but to look at as a strength to your marriage and the vows that you promised to each other.

Excellent Photographer!
I chose Joe Tate based on his work that I had seen on social media. I loved his style and his simple hourly pricing format. He was incredibly responsive to questions and provided helpful advice on our timeline. He was incredibly helpful on the day of our wedding with keeping things moving. When we were getting ready, you didn't even know he was there in the background documenting the entire day! He had many great ideas for poses of his own and welcomed any ideas that we had. I had sneak peaks in two weeks and 600 finished photos within a month of my wedding!! He was the perfect choice for our day!

The best photographer we could have asked for
We had such an amazing experience with Joe from JTate Design for our wedding! He was so kind and easy to work with from the beginning. he was so helpful in creating our timeline in order to get the photos that we wanted, but also had fantastic ideas for photos that we never would've thought of. We tend to feel a little awkward getting our pictures taken, but Joe made us feel so comfortable and at ease we end up having so much fun with it. He struck a wonderful balance of making sure that we took advantage of great photo opportunities, but didn't keep us from enjoying our wedding and what was happening around us. He and our videographer worked so well together, and we could tell that they were capturing the day, but never felt like they were in the way. He even so kindly gave my brother (an amateur photographer) some tips so he was able to capture some shots of us as well. We could not have been happier with our experience! Absolutely would recommend hiring Joe from JTate Design for your wedding!!

J Tate is definitely the right choice!
Where to begin with Joseph? First we scheduled our engagement photos with him. I NEVER in a million years thought I could be so confident and to have the pictures turn out so beautiful. Joseph is so sweet in his guidance and vision. Following up to the wedding Joseph gave constant communication, answering any questions along the way. Day of the wedding. It was a bigger wedding so chaos had ensued! But Joseph was beyond kind, caring, and punctual. Joseph was not only with us all day but went to two locations and multiple shoots all before the ceremony, capturing some beautiful memories. My bridesmaids and moms even had a hard time lacing the corset on the dress and Joseph comes in to save the day! He was by our side most of the night, I had a schedule I wanted to follow and Joseph was on it more then my coordinator. Joseph also provided so much experience and recommendations throughout the night to me and my now husband which was so nice for us as we were pulled in every different direction but he made sure it was about us. Joseph is so sweet, patient, kind, caring, professional, and very humble with pricing. We would’ve even paid more for the services we got with him, he was seriously our only ‘vendor’ who we didn’t have problems with.
If you can’t tell J Tate is definitely your go to photographer. We will be using him again for all our family photos. Thank you so much Joseph for everything we couldn’t be more blessed!

You should hire Joe!
Hello everyone! Just wanted to give a shoutout to JTate Design. Joe is a photographer in the Northeast Ohio area and if you're looking for a fantastic experience, please get in contact with him. Five stars across the board.
As a plus size bride, photos were my greatest concern. Wedding photos are the one thing that stands the text of time, and I wanted to love them, while also knowing it is very difficult for me to accept photos of myself. I shared my concerns with Joe during our engagement session, and he listened to them. In no time my husband and I were comfortable, and Joe was able to capture all the love and joy at our event. I also adore some of the unique touches he included, showing he got to know us as a couple. All of his work was on time, and his prices were fantastic. Thank you, Joe!
My biggest problem? Figuring out which ones to frame!

Amazing Photographer!
Joe was amazing to work with! He is super flexible and laid back. He traveled to Columbus for our engagement shoot and the pictures were amazing! He arrived early and stayed later than planned for our ceremony and reception to make sure he got all of the pictures. He worked with us and we planned and replanned the wedding due to COVID-19 and was always available if we had questions or wanted his input on something. He really enjoys what he does and we enjoyed working with him!

You need this photographer for your wedding!
I can't explain how much of a big POSITIVE role this photographer played in our wedding day and making all things run smoothly! He was EXCELLENT! Joe is extremely professional and flexible. We had to reschedule our engagement shoot many times, and not once was he anything but accommodating. My now husband and I had no idea what we were doing for poses or how things should go, and Joe not only guided us when we needed to guided, but also just went with the flow of how we act as a couple, producing AMAZING photos from it - great quality photos with vibrant color and detail. Joe is also the fastest out of all the vendors we hired in responding back to questions or emails/texts, every time responding in less than 24 hours. Joe also the day of our wedding was a huge help to me, personally, as the bride whose bridesmaids and MOH were MIA half the day. Joe helped me fluff my dress, pick the twigs and leaves out of it, taught me how to hold my train and helped make sure I was safely walking on the grass, stairs, and other things he had us trek through in order to get the photos we asked for - this was above and beyond in my book! I just cannot say enough about how great of an experience we had with this photographer. We will be using him for all our future photo needs, and we HIGHLY recommend, as the value in price for the quality you get is on point!

These photos are fire
Joe was fantastic. I had a lot of crazy ideas about the photos I wanted and he rolled right with the punches and got AMAZING shots. He was super easy going and nice. Value was spectacular. I couldn't recommend him more.
