Joshua was my photographer for my wedding at Windham Manor. He took photos of the day that told the story, including all of the emotions that go along with it! Joshua will do whatever you would like him to- if you want group shots he’ll do as many as you’d like or couples shots, he’ll know all the best spots! My friends and family loved the photos so much, I even had some bridesmaids buy their own copies! He was polite, professional and you barely knew he was there (which is a good thing for a photographer, trust me)! I would recommend Joshua to another bride in a heartbeat!

Josh provided photography for our wedding. He brought calm, chill vibe to our day that was absolutely necessary. He has a natural eye for beautiful portraits and photos, which showed in our final photos. The photos are incredibly clear and detail oriented. We especially loved all of his candid shots of our guests, which allowed us to view the wedding from a different perspective. We could not be happier with the photos we received. We also received our photos within 2 weeks, which was such a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend Josh for wedding photography!

One of my best friends hired Joshua Brown Photography for her wedding in 2016, and we all loved his un-obtrusive approach focused on capturing real candid moments as well as his beautiful, natural editing (as opposed to overly processed). I also hate the stereotypical "wedding shots" which are so cliche - the dress hanging in the window, the shoes staged with the ring, etc etc. So when my wedding came around in 2023, while I did look elsewhere to compare photographers and price packages, I just knew what I would be getting with Joshua Brown. Our reception was held at a restaurant (Goosefeather) and we really wanted there to be a relaxed, intimate atmosphere which was a perfect fit for Joshua's approach. While Joshua himself was booked for our wedding date, his associates were available for photography and videography. I was able to look at their galleries for other couples' weddings, and I saw much of the same philosophy - focused on capturing candid moments naturally - so I went ahead and booked them.

Marlon (photographer) and Nick (videographer) were a breeze to work with. We didn't do an engagement shoot or meet them before wedding day, but they were so easygoing and un-obtrusive that it didn't matter. We just got to experience our wedding day - ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - for the most part, oblivious to their movements and presence (other than getting ready photos and posed family photos). Receiving the gallery only ~2 weeks after the wedding was also a joy - they have such a fast turnaround time!

We were blown away by the gallery that they created. They did such a beautiful job capturing our wedding day. We loved all of the moments captured so naturally - meaningful, candid, heartfelt, hilarious, and everything in between. Us giggling in church, details of my outfits, a friend lovingly feeding his daughter, tears, laughter - the "in between" moments. They allowed us a glimpse into what our loved ones' experience of the day was when we weren't able to see them all in real time - their reactions, their joy, their laughter. They even captured the staging of a gorgeous desserts table which I completely missed - the pastry chef tossed powdered sugar on the table like Jackson Pollock! I had no idea that even happened on our wedding day, but I got to experience the drama and beauty of it through the photography.

Marlon used the lighting of the day and at the venue so well without needing to rely on heavy post-processing. Our loved ones have also been commenting on how much they love the gallery.

If capturing intimate moments at your wedding, rather than dramatically staged shots with lots of editing, is your goal - then Joshua Brown and his associates are the way to go.

We really wanted a photographer who would be both very unobtrusive, but also capture beautiful, authentic moments (and a few good pics of us). Joshua and his team did exactly that--our photos are beautiful (and came SO fast)--our favorites are all the pictures of our friends and family smiling and so joyful throughout the party. Definitely recommend if lowkey, beautiful, authentic (rather than more traditional) wedding photography is what you're looking for!

Joshua took absolutely beautiful photographs of our wedding. He knew all the tricks in the book to get our stunning photographs done quickly and without taking up too much of our precious wedding day. Beyond our gorgeous photos, the best thing was the turnaround time. He got us our photos so quickly that my friends were shocked. He is fantastic and we would highly recommend him.

Joshua was absolutely wonderful to work with! When originally planning our wedding, we did not intend to have a videographer, but as the pandemic kept many of our guests from being able to attend, we reached out to Joshua last minute to see if he would be able to film the ceremony and key events for us, so we could share them with everyone who couldn’t be there in person. We really weren’t sure what we wanted this to look like, but the footage Joshua gave us is exactly what we didn’t know we wanted and is absolutely stunning! It so perfectly captures the joy and love of the day and is something we are so excited to be able to share with our loved ones!

My (now) wife and I had an elopement with Joshua, his wife Rebecca and videographer Jessica at the Glynwood Farm last September. We met at the farm, exchanged greetings and started to pick out a site for the ceremony. We completed the ceremony with Joshua and Jessica blending into the surroundings without obtrusion. Afterwards, we started walking and driving around to find scenes to capture. It was smooth because Joshua knew this farm very well. He was succinct and effective at giving instructions for posing without getting in the way. He made very good use of the environment around us to great effect, with minimal intervention and staging, and brought out genuine emotions. His photography is natural and serene. We finished the scenes just a bit under 3 hours, and it was very nice for him to drive with us back to Beacon to snap a few more pictures, quite a few of which became our favorites. Jessica did our videography and album design. She was quiet and attentive. We iterated over a few versions of each during the post-processing, and the results came out really well. I really liked ending up choosing a minimal set of ~70 photos out of 300 to fit in 60 pages, per their suggestion. It was hard, but every photo came out splendidly large, rich and detailed. Jessica was also able to use my pre-recorded song as the background soundtrack to fit in the final video, and adjusted the rhythm of the scene changes off of that. It just came out to be a really unique piece, closer to our hearts than any other generic production.

It was overall a really pleasant experience having them being part of our special day and working with them through the process. For couples intending to plan out their own elopements, remember to plan it like a bigger wedding, go over those checklists beforehand, meet and greet the officiant in person, be prepared to get overwhelmed, and Joshua with his team will do an excellent job at capturing those sentimental moments! You’ll love how they come out.

I am ecstatic that we chose Joshua to shoot our wedding this past weekend in the Catskills. He is the ideal vendor: calm, organized, communicative and professional. When I was running around the week before our wedding, I scheduled calls with all of our vendors to make sure we had everything we needed and everyone else had a laundry list of things for me - except Joshua. You can rest assured that he's got everything covered which is such a relief when planning a wedding.

We loved that he's not a fan of corny group shots and loved the "broody" tone of his photos which is why we booked him. But after viewing the first round of photos he gave to us from our wedding I see there is so much more - he found pockets of light and areas of our venue that I would have walked right past. Some of the photos I was skeptical about during the shoot (like standing in an outcropping of ferns) are my favorite. I was also shocked to get the first wave of photos two days after our wedding. They were everything I had hoped for and they aren't even retouched yet. Also looking through the crowd shots - I think he managed to capture every single one of our guests in a meaningful way. I am so impressed with the moments he caught on film and the happy expressions he captured on everyone's faces.

I also appreciated that as the night was ending, he checked in with me to see if there was anything else I wanted captured. I felt like he really cared that we got everything we were hoping for out of working with him.

Joshua Brown Photography did a spectacular job documenting our wedding at Locust Grove in May 2018. Joshua is a very talented photographer - he provided us with a collection of photos that recreate our wedding day in careful detail for us and our family. Joshua is also kind and calm, and spent a lot of time discussing what we wanted and the details of the wedding with us in the months before the event. He knew exactly where to be and when, and it shows in the moments captured in our photos, particularly the candid shots. His assistant Allie is also extremely talented - she took lovely candid portraits of our guests. They both handled our rainy wedding without any problem, and they provided us with our photos well within a reasonable time frame. Our trust in Joshua Brown Photography was well-placed - we are so happy with the photos we received and the services provided to us.

Joshua was the best decision that we made for our wedding. Out of all the vendors we selected, he was the best. Quick and efficient with his photography and never in your face but yet the photos were amazing! His ability to capture the happiness of the day in photos is incredible.
