Unethical and unprofessional makeup artist
I’ll first start by saying through recommendation I hired Jessica Garza of jessicagarzamakeup.com to do my hair and makeup for a boudoir shoot in March 2019 and she did great. She showed up, made me feel beautiful and was professional.
Hence why I decided to book her for hair and makeup for myself and my mother for my wedding 4 months later.
I followed up a week before my wedding and she confirmed we were good to go.
However, the day before my wedding Jessica emailed informing me that due to a schedule conflict with her court ordered community service hours, she could not make our 11:30am appointment and that she would be sending an assistant instead. I immediately requested sample images of the proposed assistants work and was greatly disappointed by what I received. Imagine the stress!! Feeling uncomfortable with the situation, I made the decision to find and employ a more reputable makeup artistry company. I informed Jessica immediately upon making this decision and requested the return of my $100 deposit for the services she was unable to render.
I have emailed, called, text and sent a Venmo request for the return of my funds and Jessica continues to offer zero response or even any regard for the inconvenience that she caused me on my wedding day. (though she has time to keep up her social media presence).
I understand that life takes unexpected turns but to not deliver on your services, keep the client’s money and blatantly ignore the client all together is unethical and extremely unprofessional.
Your wedding is the one time you need people to hold up to their end of deals and if they are unable to do so they should AT LEAST show compassion for inconveniencing you and potentially ruining one of the most important days of your life.
I do not recommend Jessica due to her lack of reliability and professionalism.
