Horrible and unprofessional

I did my wedding hair and make up trial with Liz with "Hair by Liz". She seemed nice, the hair and make up was done and I had mentioned that my hair doesn't stay in curls very well and that I am worried about it falling at the wedding. This was a big concern of mine that was mentioned from the get go. Liz assured me that it would not fall. On the trial day it was falling before she even left and I hadn't even gone outside in the humidity. Liz had sprayed my hair a little bit with product that day and also mentioned that I could move the hair around a little to see if there was something else I liked better (which I didn't really mess with it after she left). When I reached out to her about this concern of mine I was immediately blamed for me not telling her that I was going out that night. The trial cost around $200, my question was if I'm spending that much money why would I not want it to look good for the evening. I had asked her if we could do a re-trial and she said sure but didn't think it was needed and that it would hold on the day of the wedding. I wasn't feeling confident in that and requested a re-trial as wedding planning is already stressful enough that I didn't want to have worries about if she could deliver on the day of the wedding if the trial already didn't go well. I offered this time to come to her so she wouldn't have to travel all the way to me again and I asked if the re-trial which she said would be $50 for just the hair with a discount could be waved since I wasn't feeling confident and felt like the hair should have been done correctly on the first trial. Liz refused my offer. She also mentioned that she by herself would get 5 of us girls' hair and make up done in 3 hours time. I ultimately decided that she would not be a good fit for hair and makeup for our wedding as I just didn't feel confident in her services and felt like I was blamed when I feel like the trial is there to make sure that things will go well on the day of the wedding. Liz ultimately decided that she would not like to lose out on a $50 hair re-trial which in turn made us cancel the entire booking which was close to $1,000 profit that she would have made. I ended up having to restart my search for hair and make up but I was satisfied with this as I didn't want to worry and be disappointed the day of the wedding had it happened again. I was out the hair and make up trial money but in the end found a different company I went with that had 2 people doing hair and make up and said it would be 5 hours time that they would get everyone done (meaning they really take pride in their work and not rush anything). I would not recommend Hair by Liz.

Quinceanera Hair Fail

We celebrated my little girls Quinceanera in October and I contacted Liz for my daughters photo shoot for her to do her hair. She did a good job on her hair for photos, but her hair was falling from the updo after about 45 minutes. I talked to Liz about the hair mishap and she said that she could make sure that she pinned it more for the day of which was fine. I figured I would give her another shot and have her do my other daughters hair as well as mine for the day of, which was October 26th. She arrived at the time she said she would and got started on us. I didn't have any photos of a style I liked so I told her to do curls (my hair is naturally curly so I blow dried it out because that is what she told me to do) My hair when she was done was an absolute mess, my curls were falling out before she was done and the bump or whatever on the back of my head looked like a rats nest. My son and daughter had to completely re-curl my hair for me after she made two more attempts to curl my hair without success. My oldest daughter did have pictures of what she wanted and Liz was unable to do the style she wanted. It was definitely not worth the $260 I paid her for the four of us. The updos for my youngest and my middle daughter were nice but my oldest and myself were 100% disappointed and left very upset to tears with the work she did on us. She basically blamed me for not having a picture for her to work with and not having enough hair/ hair was too thin. I wish she would have just been honest and said she didn't know how to do the work on our hair and we would have looked for someone else. I trusted that as a hair stylist with good reviews for the most part she would come in and do a phenomenal job but she didn't. She seems to only be good with a certain type of hair and can only do one style. As my son in law stated in a previous post I wanted to feel beautiful the day of my last baby's Quinceanera and she didn't do that for me or my daughter.

Disaster Day

We had Liz come out and take care of my mother in law and her three daughters hair for an event. Well needless to say all of there hair had to be redone after she left. My mother in law was so upset her response was “I just wanted to feel pretty, and she didn’t make me look pretty.” For the price per person, we could have saved ourself the disappointment and did it ourselves
