Upon our daughter’s engagement, my husband and I searched for a wedding venue that would provide her with a beautiful, special moment that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. We visited several venues in our area, but could not beat the amenities provided by JHR. From start to finish, Rainwater Conference Center, Ms. Kristi Trostle, and the staff were exceptionally accommodating.

Our first meeting was so very easy, and Ms. Trostle was well-prepared to answer all of our questions, even when we quickly switched from indoors to outdoors. Even after we decided to use the services of JHR Conference Center, communication remained open and very responsive to our curiosities and needs. This was quite refreshing in the middle of a pandemic! Wonderfully, the extension of hospitality was not limited to Ms. Trostle, as all of the staff— servers, set crew, custodians, and receptionists— were so very helpful during our two days of celebration.

The accommodations were outstanding! Aforementioned, we quickly decided we wanted to utilize the veranda, which was truly a hidden gem!! We had no idea of the lake and beautiful scenery that awaited us outside, or that Valdosta could produce something so lovely within city limits. Paired with our florist’s arrangements, as well as seating from Rainwater, it provided an absolutely gorgeous backdrop to the ceremony. The reception hall was just as inviting. The ceiling drapery and lighting was perfect against our chosen up-lighting and table linens. Truly the easiest planning and clean-up ever, all needs from electrical to food and drink were supplied, and we were only responsible for what we brought in to the building.

Guests seemed equally pleased in the accommodations. Our out-of-state guests appear to genuinely love the size, comfortability, decor of JHR in itself (it was decorated for Christmas- surprise bonus), as well as the setting for the rehearsal dinner. In speaking of which, it was delicious! Chef outdid himself with both the rehearsal and reception menus, and the serving staff was spot on. Offering a broad selection of items truly allowed both meals to cater to both dietary and religious restrictions, while the serving staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive to our wishes.

Truly, I would recommend James H. Rainwater Conference Center over and over again. From planning to execution, it provided our families a wonderful moment that will be cherished always.

Kristi was amazing to work with! She even left a sweet card in my bridal suite the morning of my big day!

Everything was perfect! Kristi was wonderful. She helped us with any questions we had. Our wedding day was everything we imagined and more! Staff was great. Very professional and prompt!

From day one to the Day of the wedding, I could not have asked for a better experience !! Kristi was the most amazing person to work with. She made the whole process smooth and went above and beyond to make my wedding special !! The decorations were gorgeous !! Rainwater’s food is amazing and the staff are perfect !! Everyone was so nice !! I would recommend them 100% and we will for sure use them again for other events !! The level of professionalism is amazing and they treat you like family !!

This venue has everything you need. It has the perfect room size or outdoor space, the perfect menu, and the customer service was top tier. All of that for an affordable and reasonable price point. I already recommend them and will continue to recommend them to all my family and friends.

Everything about this place was amazing!! Kristi was very professional. I highly recommend this venue for anyone that's planning something big or small. The prices are very reasonable.

We had to reschedule to our wedding twice. But ended up being able to do a vow renewal and reception at the rainwater conference center. It was the most beautiful and amazing day. All of our family and friends kept complimenting on the venue. The staff was exceptional as well.

Kristi was on top of things and always available when I needed her! She even added some touches like the stream lighting behind the Bride & Grooms table and the Mr. & Mrs. sign! Looked great in photos!

We had the ceremony outside and reception inside, I will have to post more once I receive them from our photographer :)

The location was convenient for both the wedding ceremony and the reception. The food was delicious.
