Careless & Unprofessional
We hired J. Mims Photography to do the photography for our wedding day and its corresponding events. This included the engagement photo shoot and the bridal portrait shoot. The portraits came out lovely for both events and the photographer, Jermaine Mims, made us feel comfortable. Although the photoshoots went well, we soon realized that Mr. Mims was not timely in his communication and this raised some concerns. We directly addressed our complaints to Mr. Mims before the wedding and he acknowledged them and apologized for his delayed response. However, nothing could have prepared us for the blatant disrespect and extreme unprofessionalism we experienced after our wedding. We paid Mr. Mims in advance for wedding services, including payment for the pre-ordered parent books and upgraded wedding album, but we did not receive all items as stated in our executed contract, nor did we have the printed items we purchased in advance by the second deadline he gave us, almost a month later. In fact, over 8 months later we have yet to receive the upgraded wedding album that we purchased. From December 2019 to the present, we have reached out to him on all available means of communication including cell phone texts, email, Facebook Messenger, and frequent phone calls. Finally, earlier this month (June 2020) we sent an email informing him of his breach of contract and requested reimbursement for the wedding album that we paid for. After months of not answering us, he responded. He acknowledged that he did not fulfill his agreement, but did not commit to returning our money as requested. He said he wanted to read our email in full first and that he would give us a call right back. It has been over two weeks and he has yet to respond to our follow-up call and text from the latest conversation. It goes without saying that this review is long overdue. No matter how nice this individual seems when you meet with him, he cannot be trusted professionally. In the end, Mr. Mims proved himself an unreliable and unprepared individual who was unable to uphold the obligations specified in our agreement. It is our hope that by sharing our experience that no one (especially not a bride) has to experience such unethical mistreatment. Trust us…..the work will not be worth the trouble it will cause in the end.
