We got married in August and had our ceremony outside. It was absolutely beautiful and everything was taken care of for us- as far as setting the chairs out for our guests and tearing down. The grounds are stunning and perfect for pictures! I would recommend The Iowa Arboretum to anyone planning their big day!!

The staff at The Iowa Arboretum was extremely helpful the day of our wedding and leading up to it. Any questions we had were answered and they were very professional. We felt that we were in good hands and everything went smoothly the day of the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. Our photos turned out beautiful thanks to the amazing scenery. We would recommend The Iowa Arboretum to any couple who wants a natural outdoor setting for their wedding.

It was very easy to work with the arboretum to plan my big day. They were very accommodating and even provided extra ice and popcorn for free on the day of the wedding when we ran out! It was a beautiful day!

The Iowa Arboretum is one of the best places to have an outdoor wedding in central Iowa. It is beautiful, a good price, and Kevin the planner was a joy to work with. Everything turned out great and the mission of the arboretum is a great one to be part of. I couldn\'t imagine having an outdoor wedding anywhere else.

Beautiful venue, very affordable, venue space was very efficent for entire wedding party and family. Quality of service is fabulous!! I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted an outdoor wedding.

Everything was great at the Arboretum!! It was extraordinarily beautiful. They were very helpful and available for all of the wedding planning. The only reason I had to mark down was it was difficult to locate an employee during the actual evening of the reception and the person working was dressed in jeans and a tshirt, not necessarily what you'd expect in the background of a formal event. It was the most perfect evening though and those small details wouldn't have changed my decision to celebrate there.

We loved getting married here. So so beautiful. Had the ceremony and reception here. The coordinators were not always the most communicative, but Mark always made sure we were well taken care of and that everything was in place. They were super flexible. So many great places for wedding photos after too! Beautiful gardens to walk around. We had 140 people and the inside reception room was the perfect size as well.

Kevin was absolutely amazing--he wasn't the wedding coordinator but it felt like he was. He went above and beyond to talk to everyone, come in to help tear down, and escort us around the premises the day of.

Emily came on board halfway through our planning process, and she wasn't much help. She was unresponsive at least half of the time, unclear about what responsibilities she was willing to take on, and the questions I had for her were not always answered--there were a lot of things she didn't know, which might have been because she was new on the job. Calling her an "event coordinator" is generous.

Overall the value was great. Beautiful outdoor space, good pricing, and we loved the flexibility in terms of alcohol and catering decisions.

The Iowa Arboretum was a beautiful spot for our wedding and I would recommend the location to anyone looking for an outdoor wedding. The pricing is also hard to beat. Be aware however that at least during our September wedding they were in between wedding coordinators. I'm sure with a coordinator the day of would have been seamless but without one there were quite a few hiccups. They do exclusively work with christianis catering for alcoholic beverages and christianis did help a lot with day of planning.
If they had the coordinator figured out we would have no complaints the location is great and they have an indoor set up for free if the weather doesn't hold up for your wedding.
