The Iberostar in Riviera Maya is a complex with multiple locations on property. For our destination wedding we stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya, had our ceremony at the Paraiso Lindo, and honeymooned at the Grand Paraiso. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. Our wedding planner, Pamela, was so easy to work with and super organized. I had my hair done by Nelly at the spa who was so sweet and did a phenomenal job. We chose the gazebo as our ceremony location since we had such a small group and the draperies, chairs, linens and flowers were beautiful. Our photographer, Nick, with Adventure Photos was the highlight of our wedding day. He was so accommodating and professional and took the most amazing photos. The service at all three properties was the highlight of the trip as a whole. We have never met nicer people. The food was great at all of the restaurants and buffets. We loved our experience so much that we went back 7 months later. Moving to the Grand for our honeymoon was a great choice. Not only is that property on a whole different level as far as luxury is concerned, but it allowed us to enjoy our honeymoon alone while our families enjoyed a few more days of vacation. We had our destination at Iberostar Paraiso Maya a few weeks ago and cannot give enough praise to everyone there that made it the most special day and stay for us!

Our wedding coordinator, Pamela Gonzalez, was the best wedding coordinator we could have ever dreamed of having. She made the experience easy, efficient, organized, worry-free and very enjoyable -- from the months before the wedding where we exchanged emails on a regular basis to the finishes that were completed at the resort when we were there. I cannot recommend working with her enough!

We went with the hotel photographer, Adventure Photos, and we are SO happy we did! Xavy, our photographer, was so talented, charismatic and professional; we cannot believe that the pictures he took of our day are OUR wedding pictures! They are absolutely STUNNING!

I had my hair done my Imelda (trialed a day before the wedding and then done the day of the wedding). I couldn't believe how gorgeous it turned out - neither could everyone else! Everyone kept raving about it all night and the days following the wedding!

EVERY single one of the staff members contributed to our magical day, as everyone is so hard-working and friendly. We cannot say enough good things about the service at our wedding and at the hotel during our entire stay.

In regards to dinner reservations, we were able to make them for ALL of our guests (36 that stayed at the resort) for every single night we were there. The concierge at our building (62), Oscar, was absolutely wonderful in working with us to arrange them. At times, we did run into a little bit of a problem in seating everyone in our group together at the restaurants, even though the restaurants were pretty empty (due to people booking and then skipping dinner due to excursions)...but nothing that couldn't be resolved with the staff there. Service at the restaurants was constant, consistent throughout and very enjoyable due to the great personalities of the staff.

we had a destination wedding. the iberostar did everything for us- we only picked our colors and flowers, and they arranged everything else. it was so easy, everything was decorated beautifully, and they took great care of us. we had a magical time both before and after our wedding, and would strongly suggest everyone else considering a destination wedding, to look into the iberostar!!

He week I spent at IberoStar for my wedding was a fairytale! I would recommend everyone gets married on the beach in Mexico! Our wedding planner Pamela what's aamazing everything turned out beautifully. The only reason I markedly any points down was for the cost and the fact there was no flexibility in the wedding packages.

We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at Iberostar Paraiso del Mar in Riviera Maya. The resort is beautiful, clean, and the food is delicious. Reyna, our wedding coordinator assigned by the all-inclusive resort, was very helpful/responsive once we were at the resort; My only frustration was trying to plan the wedding from afar. Details and specifics seemed to be lacking until we arrived. I think most destination wedding couples must just show up and go with the flow, but I wanted a few things, such as table numbers, or answers to simple questions, such as what color are the table linens, and they seemed slow to provide details for me until we were there. The flowers, ceremony and cake were all part of our package and were wonderful. We wished the officiant would've attended the rehearsal so we could have better anticipated the flow of the ceremony, but that was okay. We paid extra to rent the open air restaurant for our reception and to hire a DJ, and that was great, too. (Although we brought our own music playlist on an iPod and just asked the DJ to play it.) The reception food was delicious and we regret not taking pictures of each course because the presentation was beautiful. I had my hair and nails done at the SPA on site and thought they did a great job. If you want to bring your own photographers instead of using the resort-recommended Photo Caribbean, you will have to pay a penalty fee (even if you do video with Photo Caribbean). We loved this resort and plan to vacation there again in the future. Can't say enough good things about Iberostar Paraiso del Mar for your Mexican wedding venue!

This hotel is NOT recommend! We invested a lot of money into our wedding, they start you off with packages and anything different that you want is a up charge. Which I understand, but our planner that was assigned to us Pamela was really the worst we could have been stuck with. She was always telling us "No" even when we understood we had to pay extra, her answer was always NO. The thing that was really awful was our wedding day, after we invested a lot of money into decorations and meals and lighting, the HOTEL did not want to lower the air. We had an indoor wedding because I was going to be too hot for our guests. We payed so that we could party, drink and eat until 3 am. The hotel did not want to turn on the air until a couple of hours before the dinner was to begin. The air was at about 77 degrees ( we checked the thermostat) Also the lights on one side of the ballroom remained turned on the entire evening, Making the room even hotter. They claimed they could not turn off a switch. This obviously ruined our event, most guest had to leave due to the heat in the ballroom, and many didn't even dance.
The next day they did not have a reason or valid justification for the heat or the lighting malfunction, when we asked to speak to the manager to resolve this incident we were told her would be back after our checkout, we had to pay the balance of what we owed,. We stated that if we paid off our balance we would not be compensated later for this issue, Pamela then laughed at my groom and simply said, "That's your problem"

I would highly recommend going to another hotel, the grounds are nice and the chapel is what I loved. But the service and professionalism needs huge work.

Wish I could give 0 stars

This travel agency charged my credit card 2 weeks before the due date without letting me know. It came up as a parent company ARC on my credit card statement. I claimed it as fraud because I didn’t know what it was. Once I found out, I contacted my credit card company that it wasn’t fraud but the investigation was underway. My CC company sent an email to the merchant asking for proof that it wasn’t fraud to collaborate with my story. Sometimes this process can take up to 90 days. The president of the company was so impatient, she threatened multiple times to cancel my reservation if I did not give her my new credit card number to charge for the vacation. She kept saying they took the money from my account. She had an accent that was incredibly hard to understand and horrible grammar and punctuation in her emails. My credit card company told me not to give my new credit card number because if she responds that it is a legitimate charge, she will get paid from me twice. After trying to work with her multiple times, I finally sent her an email stating that I will give her my new credit card number if she agrees to refund me if I get charged twice. Her response was to cancel my reservation for our 10 year wedding anniversary that is less the 40 days away. This is a very shady business and all they wanted was to exploit me and get me to pay multiple times for the same service. I caught the owner Rosanna lying multiple times to me and when I called her out, she would change her story and go back to saying they took the money out of my account. Do not do business with this company. I let my credit card company know that she cancelled my reservation but if she claims the charge was legitimate, I will have to open a new fraud case against her again. She is a crook and a liar.

If you are looking for a cheap place to get married with the worst service and food imaginable, then this is your destination. If you don't walk around with twenty dollar bills ready to hand out to everyone, they will not help you. No matter how many people you bring them, they will not support you. They won't even help you make dinner reservations unless you pay them under the table. In regards to their "upgrade" for the bride and groom, it doesn't exist. We needed a room for the bridal party to get ready - hair, makeup, etc.- they made us pay $500 for a room that wasn't even being used!!! Can you imagine that? They have an empty room that we needed to use for 4 hours and they make us pay for it? We brought 80 guests to there hotel for 4 days and they make us pay for an empty room for 4 hours. They embarrassed me. During our wedding night, their staff members were walking up to myself, my bride and our guests ASKING for tips. How tacky is that?

Some people like to spend their vacation by the pool, and others like to spend it by the beach. If you are like us and like the beach, stay away from this place at all costs. Unless you’re planning to get up at 7 am every day to go reserve your spot at the beach, forget about finding a spot. This place is so crowded, they there are probably 10 people for every available spot. I’ve been to about 20 resorts all over the Caribbean, and this is by far the worst i’ve been to. For the price, you can find much better resort...
