About

Historic Michabelle Inn is a family-owned historic property in Hammond, Louisiana, just a short distance from the historic downtown area and Southeastern Louisiana University. David and Sandra Bradley and their staff will give you and your guests the taste of New Orleans and the hospitality of the South.

The Bed and Breakfast portion of the property consists of the historic main house and the Creole Cottage. The main house (built in 1905) is on the National Historic Register and features four elegant guest rooms, a large second floor balcony, two dining rooms, a library and a bar. Next to the main house there are an additional four larger guest suites in the Creole Cottage. The lovely grounds surrounding the main house feature a large fountain, a lovely patio around the registered live oak “The Belle Isabel”, and paths through the camelias and azaleas.

The front grounds offer a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies on the grand front porch, the large fountain or under the live oak on the brick patio. The front grounds can seat groups of 20-350 for your ceremony.

In the main house, the two dining rooms can seat from 20 to 38 guests for wedding party dinners, showers, and more intimate ceremonies.

Behind the main house there is the newly renovated Pavilion Ballroom, that can hold from 40 to 350 guests. Featuring a modern color palette and an open floor plan, the ballroom setup will allow couples the space to create the event of their dreams. The Bridal Dressing room is available onsite for the wedding party to prepare themselves with ease. Private parking for up to 170 cars and wheelchair accessibility are available throughout the grounds.

Love my venue! It was exactly what I wanted for my wedding right down to the candles going down the aisle! They catered to my every need, and can't wait to return for our year anniversary!!

Great service!

This venue was exactly what I was looking for! They had a gorgeous ceremony location with an indoor reception facility that held lots of people and great flexibility as far as finalizations! I was impressed with the speed of time it took for David to get back in touch with me when I had questions and the answers that he had always eased my mind. It was by far the best venue that I visited. They made the day of so easy and each transition felt seamless as we traveled from pre-ceremony to ceremony and then the reception. It was a joy to work with the crew here and I recommend them highly!

We had a beautiful and wonderful wedding at Michabelle. David and his staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed and took the time to even make suggestions concerning aspects we had overlooked in the hustle and bustle of putting this together. We came from out of town so the fact that the venue is already beautifully decorated and essentially all inclusive was a major plus. They took excellent care of my entire wedding party and we definitely plan on returning for our anniversary! Great service

They were very nice people, made my day so much easier not having to worry about all the set up and break down. The jambalaya was very bland but other than that everything was awesome!

They were amazing! So professional and friendly, and they helped me customize my package to focus my money where I wanted to spend it. GORGEOUS location and the food is excellent, don't be scared away by the buffet. You stay on site in beautiful suites to make travel less crazy.

Michabelle Historic Inn & Plantation was PERFECT for my wedding day! It was the best possible place for us to celebrate our wedding. My family and friends staying in the rooms inside the plantation and the suites outside the plantation. My husband and I booked one of the suites for the night of the wedding as well. David and his wife were always so kind and accommodating. I could not believe how helpful every single person was. Everyone, from the cooking staff to the event staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The entire grounds were beautiful, and I could not have asked for a more beautiful ceremony. The staff decorated the front, put all the chairs out and even helped coordinate the wedding party for the ceremony. In fact, David coordinated the entire rehearsal the day before when my officiant was unable to attend. I can't say enough good things about my entire experience. The plantation, the food, the reception area (Pavillion in the back), staff, rooms, wedding set-up and clean-up= were all perfect. I was really able to relax and enjoy every second of my wedding, and so did my entire family. And the best part is the cost was so reasonable and worth every single penny!

I want to stress the fact that there are 5/5 stars for "Value for Cost." The prices I paid was $27/person. This included Michabelle's doing a small amount of decorating, serving food, serving drinks, and cleaning up!

The Pavillion is a gorgeous, open room which is perfect for a reception. Everyone was raving about how delicious the food was. I wish I could have had more!

We forgot to bring our cake knifes and servers, but Mrs. Isabelle had some on hand so we could take pictures cutting our cake!

I did not have my ceremony here, but I've been to a wedding that did, and it was beautiful, too!

Great overall!

Planning and hosting a wedding during COVID was difficult to say the least, but David at the Historic Michabelle Inn was great! He answered all of our questions and was very flexible with us! The venue is beautiful, and the food was fantastic!

Michabelle is the greatest and most unique wedding venue that we went to. From the second we met Mr. David Bradley and saw the place, we knew we had to have our wedding here. The house is beautiful and has a distinct charm about it. Everything went perfectly for both the ceremony and reception. Mr. Bradley coordinated everything for me. No need for a wedding planner! They even decorate for you if you chose to use their decorations. They are all very accommodating to any need you may have.
