The highland dell (Herb and Ingrid) made every part of my wedding magical...they where very warm and accommodating. I couldn't ask for more! My family is still talking about how beautiful the highland Dell is! Perfect!!! They also have a killer sound system!

Discovering the Highland Dell Lodge was like finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We were searching far and wide for a wedding venue that would allow us to comfortably be ourselves while also being able to enjoy an area with unparalleled natural beauty and not have to pay an arm and a leg for. The 100+ year old historic lodge with its incredibly warm staff (owners Herb & Ingrid are true gems), delicious food and unparalleled views of the Russian River delivered all that and more. There are so many wonderful things about this venue like being able to rent out the entire hotel for your closest friends and family, enjoying a weekend at the lodge before your wedding for a menu tasting, getting the benefits of a river view but also being inside (which is ideal for late night reception dancing), etc, etc. The Highland Dell Lodge is a special place and Herb, Ingrid and their team are accommodating, collaborative and helpful every step of the way. In the end, our wedding reception was absolutely perfect and we are so grateful to the team at Highland Dell for making our dreams come true. We will definitely return as guests and relive our wedding memories for years to come!

I found The Highland Dell Lodge online while doing research for our wedding. The location looked serene so my then-fiancee and I contacted Herb Loose (owner) and asked if we could come up to take a look around. He immediately invited us up to stay overnight and meet with him. How could we say no? We made our way across the bridge in Monte Rio, the Highland Dell was even prettier along the river than in the pictures. We discussed the different options for our ceremony as well as for the reception. Herb was extremely flexible about how we would structure the day. We tried the restaurant out that night and it was excellent. When we came back for our tasting, Herb had set a beautiful table for two and that was just the start. Everything we tasted was amazing: lobster bisque (unbelievable), crab salad, beef wellington (to die for), seared ahi with an orange sauce, duck and more. Herb was more than happy to accommodate our request for a special kid's menu as well as specialty cocktails for cocktail hour. The day of the wedding, Herb and his staff were welcoming, professional, and working hard while remaining unobtrusive. His coordinator helped to manage the day-of details as well as save my husband and me food for after the event! The day after the wedding, Herb was more than happy to let us have an Easter egg hunt for the kids in the banquet room. While we were guests, Herb was superb - even making my sister a gin and tonic while the venue was closed. Herb is a little hard to reach off-season, but other than that - I could not have asked for a better venue. They went above and beyond. A+
