My husband shopped around when trying to find an engagement ring and eventually settled on Goldmakers because he felt he was getting what he wanted and a fair deal. They designed my unique engagement ring, which I love, and we went back to them when we wanted a wedding ring designed to go with it. They have you come in and look at the wax molds and sketches and such before they send anything out, and they've been very helpful when it comes to resizing and such.
I take my ring(s) into them to be serviced about twice a year because they're platinum (cleans up the scratches). For this, the cost is quite reasonable, and their service is excellent!
We also got my husband's tungsten carbide wedding band from them for another reasonable price. They were very candid about the pros and cons of this material (as they were with him about my platinum), and we're very happy with our choice.
They also have a nice selection of jewelry for regular wearing. It tends to be a little more on the eclectic side, although that's not true of all of it, and they have jewelry that fits into pretty much all price ranges (at least for earrings).

Oh, Goldmakers. I have to walk on by every time I am downtown because I can't control myself in there. Too much awesome, my wallet can't handle it. My ring was a custom piece and it is fantastic. The diamonds themselves are a work of art--Goldmakers works with extremely high quality materials. My husband's tungsten carbide band was purchased here, and it was a quick and easy visit to get that for him. Then, in a panic the week of the wedding, I realized I didn't have jewelry picked out. So I went to Goldmakers, explained my crisis, and went on a little shopping spree in the store. The woman who helped me was so sweet, and picked out several pairs of gorgeous earrings for me to play with. I chose a really lovely pair that have actually become part of my daily jewelry rotation because they are so beautiful. Definitely check this place out if you have an artsy, funky sense of style and want to get away from those terrible mall stores.
