GHI Catering along with our event space (Journeyman's Hall) are located in South Downtown Atlanta, Georgia. We do off-site catering as well as operate our venue located at 132 Mitchell Street.

Founding partner Vincent Marra has more than 20 years of culinary experience in world-class resorts and restaurants. Since 2014, Vince and his business partner Travis Schamerhorn have been devoted to providing to-be-weds with top-notch meals for their big days. Along with their talented team, their goal is to transform your wedding vision into a tasty reality.

Cuisine

GHI Catering and Journeyman's hall value flexibility, personalization, and high-quality customer service and will work with clients to create unforgettable experiences. If you're hosting a cocktail reception, we offer a variety of regional classics like wild-caught shrimp cocktails and top-your-own-grits bars. Delicious, fresh seafood options, including oysters mignonette, snow crab claws, and teriyaki-poached mussels, can also be prepared. Buffet selections feature innovative salads, such as Asian citrus slaw, and mouth-watering mains, like pan-seared salmon and roast beef tenderloin. Family-style plates are also available accompanied by unique sides such as parmesan and black pepper mashed potatoes and smoked maple Brussels sprouts. As a sweet conclusion to your meal, Vince and his team are happy to craft chocolate éclairs, key lime tarts, peach cobbler, and more.

Great Food, Reasonable Price

Our guests complimented the food many times. GHI provided great plated dinners, expertly offered dietary-specific dishes, incorporated our feedback after the initial tasting, and were very kind and easy to work with, especially as the final guest count fluctuated a few days after it was technically due. Highly recommend if you are in the Atlanta area.

Exceptional Service

I can't express how grateful we are to have had Gotta Have It Catering as our choice for our wedding on August 5th. From the very beginning, their team displayed professionalism and a genuine commitment to making our day perfect. The menu they helped craft was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, reflecting the careful planning that went into every detail along with accommodating all our needs and constant changes we made throughout our planning. They helped create a wonderful ambiance that added to the overall magic of our wedding. Our guests truly enjoyed them just as much as we did. Amazing!!!

Best caterer in town!! We planned our wedding in less than 4 months and Linda from GHI played a huge role in helping us pull it off!! I did not know where to start and Linda answered every question patiently, quickly and thoroughly. We changed our guest count a few times and each time I reached out with the new number, we got the updated proposal soon after. The tasting was great, we were able to taste our full menu for the wedding and it tasted amazing, we changed what we wanted (which was very little). Linda and the team were very accommodating with each request. On the big day, Kim (manager) and her team arrived on time and ready to work. My coordinator and the manager went over the seating of the ceremony, cocktail hour set up and the reception to make sure everything was accurate. Everything was executed extremely well and without problems. It was exactly how we dreamed of it. The entire GHI team served us and our guests and handled every request. The bar staff was so fun and personable and my husband and I were waited on hand and foot all night long. We didn't expect to be treated so well but we did not have to want for anything. Whenever, our hands were empty, someone from GHI brought us drinks, even on the dance floor!! The cleanup was done quickly and everything was left how we found it. 10/10.I can't recommend GHI enough!! Thanks again!!

Above and beyond

My wife and I can say from day 1, Chef Vince and his team were nothing short of amazing.  We had to change venues twice,  working around COVID. Vince worked with us and made us feel important throughout the process.

But that's not end of the story, we had our wedding outside, which weather looked good the week or so before. Instead the week of and day of, it rained. Making it a muddy mess, but that did not stop Vince and his team for showing up and delivering a service none of my guest or we will ever forget.  We will definitely use Gotta Have It for our future events.

Highly recommend!

I have been working with Gotta Have It Catering & Food Truck for the last 8 years as an event planner. During that time I have worked with hundreds of brides to help them with their catering needs and Gotta Have It consistently knocks it out of the park.

From personalizing every menu to fit the bride & groom to providing professional service and outstanding food--they can't be beat. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Excellent catering

GHI was a dream to work with. Amanda was so responsive to our emails every time we had questions. She helped us create a menu to match our theme. The tasting was delicious. They took our feedback and made sure to execute our vision on our day. The servers were phenomenal. Everything about GHI was wonderful!

Simply the best

Vince and his team at GHI have been so accomodating and helpful throughout the whole process. Personable and friendly, we have only ever had a positive experience in our communication with them.

We had to reschedule our event due to COVID-19, and we recieved nothing short of professional, 'no-pressure', service. All we had to do was let Vince know and the rest was taken care of.

Prior to confirming GHI as our caterer and DJ we attended a tasting at their premises in Atlanta- the food was exceptionally prepared, extremely tasty, and there was no problem if we decided to swap something out. It was so tasty we even took boxes home to let people try!

Overall we are extremely pleased with GHI's performance as a vendor, and they recieve our highest recommendation for all catering/DJ/coorination needs.

Delicious Food!

GHI prepared a delicious selection for us at our wedding, and were very open to any changes we wanted to make with the menu. Quick responses to all our questions, and did an exceptional job setting up and breaking down during the event. Their staff was beyond friendly, and I don’t think I ever saw them without a smile on their face! We hired our wedding coordinator with GHI as well, and it was the best decision we made. She was there for all our needs, and had our wedding running like a well oiled machine. She communicated with all the vendors, and when we walked in for our introduction, it was magical seeing our vision come to life.

Tasty Food, Great DJ and Amazing Service!

We used GHI Catering for our rehearsal dinner, reception, late night food and DJ. Our rehearsal dinner was buffet style and reception/late night were the food truck. From the beginning, GHI was very responsive and courteous. Our food tasting was delicious and the food was just as good (if not better) the weekend of our wedding! I love that they offer so much to minimize the amount of vendors you need to coordinate with. They traveled about an hour and a half for our event and were timely throughout. The staff was absolutely amazing and so kind on our wedding day! I loved that they seemed like they were having a great time. Travis was such a fun DJ! He kept the partying going and even tolerated the ridiculously long list of songs my husband sent him beforehand :) I absolutely recommend GHI for any of your catering or DJ needs!
