About
It seems as if I was born with a camera in my hand; there isn’t a time when I didn’t have a camera in my hand. Throughout my childhood, it was the key to my collection of memories of family and friends. Facebook and Instagram weren’t available back then, and the pictures I took ended up in photo albums. The albums would tell a story of significant events in my life. One of the most significant chapters in this story was my first job as an athletic director at a girls’ high school. While coaching each season, I took pictures of the student athletes to inspire, motivate, and help them to remember their season’s accomplishments. I created an end of the season slide show with music, and the smiles on their faces and overwhelmingly positive responses inspired me to continue writing my story, as well as theirs, through photographs. In the early 90’s, I began working at a portrait studio. I had duel motivation: my love for photography and my beautiful baby girls that needed photographing. I realized I had to learn the technical side of photography; however, I had a natural instinct for capturing people in their very best light. Although teaching math is my full time occupation, I continue to be allured by the magic of photography. I began shooting children, pets, engagement portraits, weddings, real estate photography, dance and sports pictures. With every new photo shoot, I realize that capturing memories that last a lifetime is priceless. Writing my story through photographs has become as natural as breathing, and I hope to be able to help others as they pen their chapters as well.
