We used Frank and the Fantasia Band for our daughters wedding and they were fantastic. Frank was so great to work with and so helpful in planning everything. He was flexible and even learned a new song for the Father-Daughter dance. The band had people on the dance floor all night. From young to old - everyone had a great time and was raving about how good these guys were. If you are looking for a great wedding band that can do it all- this is it!

We are so glad we picked Fantasia for our wedding band! They did an amazing job. Everyone enjoyed their music and was dancing all night. We received tons of compliments about them from our guests. Frank was easy going and great to work with. We requested for them to play a song not on their playlist, and they were more than happy to learn the sheet music and work with us to make sure it went well. We are so appreciative of them going above and beyond for us. From our conversations with Frank, it felt like Fantasia is made up of great people who just love to play music. They were exactly what we were looking for in a band! Thank you, Fantasia!

Fantasia was incredible! I’m not exaggerating when I say that I could not believe their sound. Being that both me and my bride are music people (I’m a singer/guitarist, and my wife is a music teacher) we thought “How could we not have a band?” We had already decided to go with Fantastic DJs as our DJ, but they do a combo deal with Fantasia, so we started looking at the DJ / Band combo (which we ended up doing).

We weren’t able to hear the band at one of their gigs, but we checked out the band’s website (don’t let the dated website fool you - they ARE a party band), and the recordings sounded great. We were intrigued. We met with the bandleader, Frank, who was extremely nice (and became a pleasure to work with). We made a couple of requests, and he was totally willing to make our requests a reality. The biggest being our request that the band play during our first dance, and even though the song was not a wedding song at all (Muse - Starlight), the band ended up learning the song, and it sounded fantastic!

Now, I said that we weren’t able to hear the band live before the wedding, and we knew this was a bit risky, but we should not have worried at all. The group was totally professional, and I personally heard the following conversation no less than 3 times outside the hall:

Wedding guest #1: “When is the band coming back on?”
Wedding guest #2: “That IS the band.”

And, it’s not just that they’re good, technique-wise. They know how to keep people dancing. You may not think it by looking at them, or their website (sorry Frank), but they are totally a party band. That dance floor was packed all night!

Fantasia was THE BEST. I could not have made a better choice. Not only did I love them, but everyone who attended the wedding and even the people that worked at the venue could not believe how good they were and how nice it was to have a real band. I highly recomend them to anyone looking for a GREAT sound, and an awesome time. I wish I could throw a party every year and have them play. They were really the best.

Frank and the whole band were simply fantastic! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an entertaining band in and around Chicago. Here are my top takeaways:

- Frank was super responsive leading up to the wedding. His experience made a big difference in helping us pick our song list and coordinate the evening’s schedule. He was also very patient and responsive
- The band had an extensive song selection across multiple genres and decades
- They did an excellent 25 minute hora, which was perfect for our Jewish wedding
- They handled all musical logistics throughout the evening, including the ceremony and cocktail hour, playing preselected songs from an iPod
- The price is really competitive with other bands in Chicago and I feel we got good value
- Most importantly, everybody was up and dancing and had a great time, in no small part because of the great live music!

Finding a live band for the wedding was probably one of the more challenging pieces of the puzzle. We wanted a 5-7 piece band that played enough variety for our crowd of all ages. After a good 100 emails and finally peaking in on one of their performances, we chose Fantasia. It was a tad more competitive to find a band due to the competing holiday parties in December. In fact, we were lucky to book them as their client booked them 11 years in a row on our wedding weekend date and they changed the pattern.. My H and I planned on playing the "now" music during the 30 minute breaks, cocktail hour and also during dinner. The band learned our first dance "Im Yours"-Jason Mraz and even sent us a demo with new music updates with songs from Black Eye Peas, Lady Antelbellum, and Michael Buble. They knew all the classics, too, and kept people on the dance floor all night. Frank, the main contact, was always a pleasure to work with and did not flinch at all the correspondance I sent before booking and after. We feel that they were the icing on the cake on a perfect wedding day. Having live music during the cocktail hour and after dinner really wow'd the guests. They also played a special memorial song as one of the special dances and did a superb job. As a side note, they do know a lot of Italian songs if you were looking for something like that. The best of this group is that they did not have the arrogance that some other area orchestras/band had when I was doing my initial search. Even though this group is incredibly talented, they are very down-to-earth

A bit pricey, but worth every penny! Everyone was on their feet!

Fantasia band played at our wedding reception. I called that time of the day the dance party portion. I wanted this to be a high energy fun time with all of my husband and my favorite rock and roll songs. Before booking Fantasia I shared this expectation with the Band leader. He said no problem. I paid him and almost a year passed. About two months prior to our wedding I followed up on the play list that was sent about a month prior to receive an email saying that they only play off their playlist (which I never received) and the songs not on it will be removed and he will fill in with what he liked. A month out we met with him at the venue to finalize details. The band leader was not well prepared. He was still set on the idea of playing what he wanted. We were not in agreement. He wanted to play slow songs, salsa and traditional wedding music. We did not agree to that or pay for that! After removing quite a few of our favorite songs and adding some of the faster songs from their playlist we had a final playlist we could live with. Agreeing to play our CDs during the bands breaks so we could get more of our favorite rock and roll.

The wedding night music was fun, up beat and kept to the play list. Although during breaks when my wedding planner forgot to give Frank CDs he played his break music. It was awful! It completely killed the dance floor. And although we agreed to play our music he did not ask when he did not have it. He was tough to work with but if you can get through it the band is talented and can be really fun!
