It's hard to put into words what an important part of our day Ely was. We hired Ely for our backpacking elopement on Broken Top and he more than rose to the occasion. My husband (!!) and I have never had professional photos done and are not incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. Ely set us at ease and made us feel like we were spending the day with a friend. By the end of the day, he had us posing like pros!
Ely directed our day and created structure like a true professional, but was ever-present for spontaneous moments. I truly can't imagine the day without him. He will absolutely be our go-to photographer for any future needs.

Ely was exactly what we wanted for our Oregon elopement photographer. He and his wife and daughter even took us out for dinner the night before to meet us and discuss the plan for the upcoming day. He is friendly, accommodates requests, kind, and does a phenomenal job with the photos. He made us feel comfortable and confident throughout the day! It is hard to put into words how special, talented, dedicated, and fun Ely is! We found Ely through a preferred vendor list from Brasada Ranch and quickly decided that he was the photographer for us. His vision for outdoor portraits, panoramas, and creative locations is rooted in his love and knowledge of the Pacific Northwest and his instinct to try new things. He is calm and understanding of our preferences, and completely trustworthy in his suggestions for locations and poses. Plus, he’s a great guy and we felt like instant friends from the moment we met him which made our sessions so relaxing.

We used Ely for our engagement photo session where he took us on a hike to a waterfall, a drive to a snowy lake, and to some unique views at Smith Rock. He does everything 110% including bringing every bit of gear you think you would need, even a couple celebratory beers. On our wedding day he was early, fully prepared, and ready to match his skills with our wishful vision of the day. He takes such good care to capture all the little things and moments while letting the day flow without dictating timelines or poses. He took notes during our meetings of specific wants with people and locations and during our wonderful golden hour photos he was literally running from spot to spot while we were being transported.

His communication is terrific and he delivers his photos and albums incredibly quickly, including some sneak peaks seemingly instantly! We have had such a great time getting to know Ely through our engagement and wedding that we feel we have made a great friend. We will be meeting up with Ely any time we make our way to Bend and will for sure be using him for future family photos. Thank you again, Ely! You truly made our wedding special and we have so many beautiful photos to look back upon and memories with you!

Hands down the best photographer you could hire for any kind of shoot. We were so lucky to get him for our wedding. The pictures turned out incredible. His professionalism, pricing, and skills are unbeatable. He lives in Oregon but after he shot my brothers wedding I knew I had to have him fly into California so I too could have the best possible pictures. Couldn't recommend a better photographer!

There are simply not enough good things to say about working with Ely....Not only does he take tremendous photos, but he is warm, funny and personable, all of which makes having your photo taken so much fun! We hired Ely to photograph our wedding this summer and had him do some less formal family photos a few weeks before. Both sessions were amazing and it is difficult to pick a favorite photo from the portfolio. He did a wonderful job capturing great pictures of the camera shy, and made us all feel comfortable with the experience. For the wedding especially, Ely and his team did an incredible job documenting us, our families, our guests, and the details of the event. There are wonderful photos of everyone, and he did a great job capturing the spirit of the wedding. Ely’s turnaround with his amazing photos is also remarkable — we got them just a week after the wedding! We hired Ely to take our wedding photos in Sunriver and I was so happy with the experience and the results.

We did a river float a couple of days before the wedding and he let us split our package so we could have him there for a few hours to take pictures on the day of the float when we stopped for lunch as well as at the wedding. He even jumped in one of our kayaks and got some photos of us all on the river. He was pleasure to work with and I am extremely please with the photos.

Ely is an incredibly talented photographer and choosing him to photograph our wedding was easily one of the best choices we made for that day. The images he produced were amazing and we will cherish them forever.  He is extremely easy going and his calm demeanor made such a stressful day easier. He is pretty much game for anything. He hiked a mountain with us at 4 am for goodness sake. He even helped us get our car unstuck while we were driving to that trailhead.

He is extremely punctual and with quick turn around. He even shared a few pictures with us that same day so we could show our families. They also all loved him! :)

If I could do it all again I wouldn't change a thing, and especially not my photographer selection.

Ely and Abby are amazing photographers and we are so lucky that they were available to photograph our wedding day! The pictures are absolutely beautiful and I never expected that we would get so many amazing shots of the two of us and with our families and friends. Ely took the time to find special places to photograph us outdoors at our venue that I never would have thought of and the result was just beautiful. Also, we are both relatively shy people and Ely was superb at giving us directions and getting shots where we look natural, comfortable and very happy. Another thing worth mentioning is that Ely was extremely courteous and patient with some of our guests who wanted to take their own pictures (at times even during the formal pictures with family), and we really appreciated that as we know that can make a photographer's job a bit harder. Ely was always available throughout the evening to get the shots we wanted with our guests, without being intrusive. We are so very pleased with the pictures and the whole experience having Ely and Abby photograph our wedding - we highly recommend them! Thank you so much, Ely and Abby!

We couldn't be happier with Ely. He is exactly what you need on your wedding day: timely, creative, calm, efficient, reliable and enjoys every minute of your big day. It's so fun to have someone who treats your wedding day with such care. He was wonderful with our family during the portraits after the ceremony. I've heard of overly bossy and controlling photographers but he was so calm and still got the job done brilliantly. Our venue said his photo was the best one they had ever seen taken there!
